  1. Ben Arfa told France Football: “At 26 years old, I still have plenty of time in front of me. I am not about to describe my career prior to retirement.

“I know some will again think that I am mad but I still dream for example of the Ballon d’Or. I am convinced that this is still possible.

“It is forbidden to dream? I disappointed a lot of people over the past years, I have even annoyed many too, no doubt. But those people were right. I was not very professional.

“I think I gradually changed as I have grown up. I have understood some basic stuff with regards to  the strength that a community brings.

“I still believe that one day I will be the best player in the world. But my biggest victory will not be that one. It will be of becoming a well-rounded man after overcoming so many obstacles.”

  2. Lost his way recently. Evident when that ball was played into him from Sissoko. Sloppy touch etc.

If he had that ball played into him when he was on form, he would have put that away within seconds. I think he needs time to regroup - get Gouffran on instead.

  3. From values taken from transferleague.co.uk (they seem accurate from what I can recall)

    Debuchy £5.5m

    Yanga-Mbiwa £6.7m

    Haidara £2m

    Sissoko £2.5m

    Gouffran £1.2m

Total of £17.9m and we also sold Ba for £7m...

Where did he even get £30m from? Why don't journos pull him up on his figures? f***ing hate Pardew.

We always add the cost of the wages to the fee since this regime came in. Although they seem to forget that matchday income probably covers a fair bit of that.

And also conveniently ignore the wages of players that leave in their calculations

Yeah haha - it doesn't make a lot of sense since the contracts may be worth up to £12m but that is over multiple years so we didn't spend £30m in January.

  5. If we wouldn't pay his wages 2 weeks ago i doubt we'll do it in January.

Hmm... if it is true that he will be 8 million euros less then we may up the wages we offered previously. Although I doubt it. Depends what other teams are offering.

  6. How does he make money out of it?

    This, how does it work?

Sulia works on PPC so he will get paid based on how many people view links to his Sulia posts... that's why he always builds up to those links to get a large number of clicks. Usually with the typical "WORLD EXCLUSIVE". Although other than that I'm not too sure either.

  7. So according to that page the older news states that Marseille have had a €15m bid accepted and Thauvin is in contractual negotiations with them.

But the latest news is that we've bid €12m?

    Both from L'Equipe. Sounds legit.

To be honest... sounds like something we would do

  8. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 6m

Newcastle have also made a €12m bid for Florian Thauvin!

Ummm what? Thought Marseille had basically wrapped it up (with a better offer).

Also apparent bids from Liverpool (€10m) and Arsenal (€12m).

  9. "The Europa League also took its toll because of injuries and that was felt in the league. My job is simple - to bring in quality players who will give the manager more options."

"I have spoken with Fabricio Coloccini and I am confident he is staying and Steven Taylor - well, he is a rock. We just need to bring in more talent."

Ah we all knew it would happen

  10. Best case scenario: 0 in, 0 out

Worst case scenario: 0 in, Cabaye out

Everyone needs to realise that this is the case. Ashley's ideal day would be for us to sell Cabaye for some good profit then get Pards to tell everyone that we didn't have enough time to get anyone over the line.

  11. HBA as playing manager for the rest of the season pls  :smitten:

That would be something riight?  :aww:

He is the main reason i look forward to our matches these days, sad but true.

He is the ONLY reason. Hatem is our only hope.
