A guy here in Portugal that is known for faking voices made a prank call to a football related TV show (about EURO of course) after Portugal - Iceland, saying that it was Ronaldo calling, and he was apologizing for making 2 passes during the whole match when he should've shot instead, and next time he would try to aim at goal even from goal kicks. Then he finished the call saying that we had now to rest to prepare himself for the match Cristiano Ronaldo x Austria. This is why Portuguese comedy is revered the world over. Interpolic, why the sarcasm all the time? That's annoying. Sarcasm reveals anger underneath. Get your s*** straight with your parents or women and stop being such a dick.

What's the opinion of the Portugese team in Portual, Jotenko? Yous are pretty much identical to us in tournaments (given expectation and the quality of the squad) only a bit better on the eye. People used to be really fanatic about the national team when it was, you know, a team. Now it's a mix of indifference and embarassement about all the hype around Ronaldo. Also, the national team is pretty much viewed as a way to conduct private interests and an obligation to the players. Let me put it this way: The "real fans" (I mean hardcore club fans) used to be also the backbone of the national team support. There was even an organized support group, they called themselves "Raça Lusitana" if I'm not mistaken. Now the backbone of the national team support is pretty much those softcore fans that hype up for the national team tournaments and women that cry like nasty bitches each time Ronaldo touches the ball. Still, the whole country gathers to see the matches. Those "hardcore club fans" will still gather to see the games, like myself. But in a very light minded way, even though having some hope in the bottom of our hearts. I don't know if you can really understand what I mean or if the feeling over there is the same. And, if you ask any fan in Portugal if he would pick a national team achievement vs an achievement by his club, he will prefer the latter, no doubt about that. I guess it's pretty much the same about you lads. People here tend to dislike England much due to the cockiness of your fans. But this is a recent feeling, for some reason. I remember when I was a kid I used to absolutely love England, I would pick them in every football game I played. That's why the EURO 2000 memories are so fond to me. I loved both the portuguese and the english squad. It's actually quite weird that neither of those squads won a single thing! Yeah, man, that match was epic... Figo, Rui Costa, Abel Xavier, Paulo Sousa, João Pinto, Shearer, Sheringham, Cole, Owen, Seaman, Beckham. When we were down 2-0 my father went out of our house back to his automobile repair shop, I came calling him back screaming when we went back 2-2! LOL Good old days, man. Good old days...

? What's a fret? It's how Pardew says "threat". Also those metal wires embedded in the necks of guitars, banjos, etc. Also a verb meaning to worry. Threat = Ameaça

OK now it really made no sense. No goal happened at all. There's nothing to make sense of. "Get in!" is just an expression of delight. Standard usage: "It's your favourite ice-cream for dessert, tonight." "GET IN!" More expressive usage: "Your lottery numbers have come up!!!" "GET THE f*** IN!!!!" Got it now, thanks. -

OK now it really made no sense. No goal happened at all. Ha Ha jotenko struggles with the minute details of English slang and I cant even order a half pint in Portugal I always just accept a large beer, say thank you and pay for it with an awkward smile. Man I just find funny saying that in portuguese. People would scream "Golo!" and I would scream something like "Entra lá dentro!" -

Yes. But, if you happen to be at the match, when do you say get in? First you scream "Yes" and then you say "Get in"? I can't seem to get it. It's just like any other exclamation of positivity; completely interchangeable as to when you say it. "Yippee" is generally the go-to celebration in the Premier League stadiums, though. So, per example, I see the grades of my test and I have an "A". I scream "Get in" and it will make sense, is that it? Yes. So, just to end this conversation, what is the origin of "Get In"? From football itself? -

Alright people, why do you say "Get in"? I thought you people would scream "Yes!" at goals but... "Get in"? What is supposed to get in? The ball inside the net? -

It doesn't have a direct translation. But it will be something around "cismar". Which is a traditional portuguese word to overthinking. "Don't fret about getting an anal exam!" "Não cismes sobre fazer um exame anal!" By the way, stop talking brazillian portuguese. You're sentence should've been written like this: "Olá, como se diz "fret" em português?" Jotenko, first of all, he wants the Pardew fret I imagine. Secondly, Brazilian portuguese is the official portuguese of this forum. Can you please explain to me what's "Pardew fret"?

Doubt that's true, it's just you have to listen to them proselytizing when they do something decent...see Benson Henderson. God as we know Him, as someone "human shaped", that decides, judges, has preferences, takes revenge, etc, is just a human construction. It is the eternity, the supreme divine intelligence, beyond time, that becomes a body and dis-becomes once he finds Himself again. God is inside you and me, and outside of you and me, just like if you were a branch of a tree or a bubble of a lake. -
