  1. I think I'd watch legitimately if it was on a pay per view basis, which I'm sure it used to be on sky yonks ago? Don't know the problems associated with that method, just that I'd be more inclined to pay one offs even if my overall cost in the end was fairly close to a normal subscription. As it is, I am not paying best part of £100pm for what would really only be for football. And I definitely can live without watching villa Vs sheff etc.
  2. It feels like every journo under the sun is suddenly tweeting positive things based purely on the piracy stuff that came out yesterday. I'm not convinced, still, that any of them have any information. Yeah I'm sort of leaning that way a bit. Feels like they've made the same connection fans have to the piracy news, not necessarily heard anything. But I'd love to be wrong What other connection could there be though? This may be quite negative, but what if they have intially failed the tests? And this tougher stance on piracy and buying up shares in BT etc. Is a sort of look at us cleaning up our act. Prem looks better for denying it in light of quite obvious issues, Saudi go away and do all the necessary changes for a smoother process for prem etc. Like I say, pretty wild and negative outlook but too many times have we seen every reporter jump on any any bit of news and the deal was as good as signed months ago. "Go away, tidy up your act, we'll let you buy Man United next year". That type of thing? Jesus I hadn't even thought of that angle that is inherently worse!

Edit: the above post maybe changes things slightly sorry. Didn't realise some journalists had came out with it first. Ok I'm all in

  5. IF this happens, watching the likes of Edwards scrambling to rewrite history is going to be painful to watch. I don't buy his faux concerns and supposed impartiality when reporting rival bids etc. He knows he has took the obtuse angle on a lot of points for the clickbait and wind up. Can't box that up as being cautious or hesitant. Sure he's made his employers some money though so
  6. I'm pretty chill right now. We've seen how possible good news has been crushed in almost the next breath and I'm honestly pretty tired of the resulting mood swings It appears the press are picking up on probably the same vibes that we all are, something has happened good or bad that has prompted a bit of a Saudi charm offensive. I hope for everyone's sake this is brought to some sort of conclusion by end of play this week.
  7. I'm sure he has just wummed people in a pity post, does his talents show no end? Still amazed by his handy work in this thread.
  8. Formal announcement July 1st Next Thursday, money for purchase will already be in the UK, held in escrow. They got a bet on with Penn like?
  9. He believes in father christmas Someone told him a fairy story that's for sure.
  10. If by papers you mean strongly worded letters, then yes plenty.
  11. It's not a new development, and isn't presented as such within the Bloomberg article. Scare over - still on course for rejection. Fine wummery. Always find your post peculiarly interesting.
  12. One of the comments is right, bit rich that quote when it comes from Qatar of all people
  13. Makes for grim reading if that were to happen. So we're just waiting for this to become public and the prem to hide behind this report as justification (I'm not saying it's contents aren't valid btw, I think we all know how sketchy KSA are) and that's that. Wherever the WTO report goes after that is of no relevance to prem or takeover I assume unless somewhere down the line it was contested and won on favour of KSA.
  14. Think most people have lost their appetite for the takeover nevermind a shit slinging match on twitter with Miguel like.
  15. How's everyone's bowel movements been this week? Frequent with a slight consistency of nesquik cereal.
  16. Not only that, we could probably tell you what aircraft she's used in the last month and where she has been. Probably take out a restraining order against us when/if the takeover happens.
  17. They chipping in as well? Might as well give up now, have NATO on our backs soon enough.
  18. Aren't takeovers great. Rich people buy it and then they invest, or they don't, FANTASTIC!
  19. I know this has probably been discussed ad nauseum. But is what was supposedly given to the PL the same is what is going to be released publicly from the WTO? If so, is it not a positive that we are still supposedly going back a forth with PL answering questions etc. Or is it a case of PL waiting until the same document they have has been released and tying their decision in with that release?. Or option C, nobody knows what the PL is doing and are just making up scenarios, like me.
  20. Aye, here's to 13 more years of being s***. We've been s*** throughout most of our history other than for a few years at the start of the 1900s, the 1950s, a few years in the mid 90s and a few years at the start of this Century. So about 20/25 good years out of 128! And here we have our best chance ever to become one of the best clubs in the World, but fuck that. We don't have a chance. It's not going through and it never was. Of course I'd have loved this takeover to happen mate but I'm also a realist. Quite a statement. I'm sure you can understand why I hope you're massively wrong God I wish we knew nothing of this bid from the start! But so desperate are we that we've got people monitoring companies house and airports.
  21. Overall it is positive. But as a fan of nufc, what positives are you taking? Feels like a further kick in the stones the way I read it haha
  22. Greg[/member] is a legend so I'm not having a go..... but I really wonder what has gone wrong (if anything) since this day of supreme confidence It wasn't a day of supreme confidence in terms of anything imminent, just confidence that it will get done - the point was that what I'd heard (and I have no direct links to anyone involved in this and so it's all second / third hand so usual pinch of salt) was that there remains confidence on both sides that deal will go ahead but they don't know when. So make sure your fridge works to keep those cans chilled and ready for when the announcement comes out of the blue, whenever that may be. Nobody likes warm beer, or champagne in my case - I'm on a low carb diet. So no better than any 3rd rate journo or Steve wraith. Thought better of you. You're in a privileged position as a fan, you should know that implications of reporting back to us like that and refrained from it. At least we all know now not to listen to you. Is he the ginger haired kid who has been getting himself on the TV and radio? Another one at NUST who seems way more interested in building a profile for himself than report accurately what's going on or properly representing the fanbase. Or, his role requires him to convey concerns of the fanbase etc. to the media? I don't know him but from what I've seen of him in media as of recently he's actually done a pretty good job of conveying my feelings at least.
  23. The importance of this distinction exists largely in the minds of Newcastle-Online.org members, and stems from a wild extrapolation of one of the Premier League’s early statements that referenced a “Saudi Arabian company”. No one involved in the deal on any side would have bothered discussing the distinction between the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia, chaired by Mohammed bin Salman, and the state of Saudi Arabia, governed by Mohammed bin Salman. Because there isn’t a meaningful distinction. The idea that the Premier League is going to secure meaningful legal reform in Saudi Arabia is also fanciful. I actually agree with this. Too many people looking for hidden messages out of desperation and somewhere later down the line this being treated as fact. I'm probably guilty of it myself. And the premier league somehow being peace brokers in the middle East just sounds rediculous, nowhere in the PL's OD test does it state the prem can push for reform in another country in exchange for a club haha. I know the second point is a bit hyperbolic but it's loosely how I interpreted that athletic point.
  24. Other than media shitstorm I honestly don't see why they wouldn't want this to go through? I'm sure the fear of losing out on potential serious investment in their league isn't lost on them. And don't they already have findings of WTO report, or am I making that up?
