Ashley has hopefully realised that Benitez can do the job (and more) that the board does, and will pay him accordingly. Hopefully we see a departure in the form of Charnley, and a role reversion for Carr.
Playing football at lunch today, it'll take me out of all this madness for about 75 minutes. Hopefully I'll come back to a planned Rafa press conference.
Nearly all football chairman etc are odious in some way I suppose.
Albeit qualified in some way I would imagine. I was looking at the 'league' table of director salaries last night. Charnley was lowest in the league excluding palace (due to owner/director not drawing a salary).
It's jealousy. No one is going to take someone like fat Sam over benitez are they? Martinez spent years at the bottom with wigan and he's not a 'specialist'. It's all bollocks. You win or you don't.
All of this is so cruel if it doesn't come off. I've allowed myself to dream that it would happen. At the start of the week I was accepting relegation and hopefully in time Ashley would sell the club.
This has allowed me to hope and if it doesn't come off and we end up with a clogger. It will be the same situation as before. But instead I will feel awful. Will have to wait for the apathy to come back after.
Would quite like to know his thoughts on whether Spurs are losing this because they aren't playing a full strength XI
Did you catch his insight on the lack of quality in the premier league based on this game?
