Champions League 2023/2024: Group F (Newcastle, Milan, Dortmund, PSG)
HaydnNUFC replied to Marko NUFC's topic in Football
I doubt it, especially in France and Italy. I'd personally think twice about going to PSG away even if I was able to get a ticket and not be refused entry as season ticket-less vermin as per this season's rules from the clerb. The French police treat English football fans like scum; the CL final in Paris in 2022 a prime example. People I know who went to Marseille in 2004 also say the main grief they got wasn't from Marseille fans but from the French police down there as well. -
Who actually gives a shit, man. Never known a fanbase so obsessed with geography and the fan split in towns than them. If you're not born in and reside in NE1 or the west end you're not a Geordie. It's Ponteland Airport. The bridges over the Tyne are all in Gateshead, not Newcastle. If you don't reside either north of or on the banks of the Tyne but you support Newcastle United you get outed like a partisan in German occupied Europe. Certain places in the North East are Sunderland 'strongholds' as if they see maps of Tyne & Wear and County Durham as a campaign map from a Total War game. Such odd behaviour.

Hope we're at home on matchday 1. -
Also can't wait for them to be cheering PSG goals that directly affect us in the CL this season despite all of the MLFs on Ready To Groom being hugely against sportswashing, human rights abewses and the MENA region.

I'm 22 years old and have seen us play in Europe 8 times in the flesh, hoping to make that 11 if I can get tickets this season. Those 8 times that only I've personally seen are double the number of times Sunderland AFC has played in Europe in it's 144 year history.

29th November and 12th December are matchdays 5 and 6, no team has ever been away on both of those consecutively in the CL afaik. And I doubt UEFA will acquiesce to that because Sunderland are at home to Huddersfield and Watford. -

First time we've ever played any of these clubs, wondering what to do for pre-match threads... I'll think of something. -

Hopefully. The group is a nightmare for all 4 teams when away from home. -

I fancy us to get at least 6 points at home but away is a slight worry. If we can get 10+ we'll get through. -

Owen Hargreaves being super positive about us was lush to hear. Not so Oppenheimer about the group now. -

Liverpol would go into the CL and their EL spot would be vacated, no extra spots for teams below them. -

Dunno whether this is odd or not but I don't fear Lazio like I do Milan. Maybe the Tonali factor or that Milan have an amazing history in this competition whereas Lazio don't. Even though Lazio finished 2nd in Serie A. -
