This obviously depends on who we draw in the group and the Ro16 (ie we could get a group of Bayern, Real Madrid & Milan which wouldn't be ideal ) but can see us getting to the quarter finals. We're the team no one will want in pot 4 and I can honestly see us winning all of our home games. Posted a few times now I think, but in terms of playstyle and trajectory there's similarities between us and the first few years of Liverpool under Klopp. First time they got to the CL under him they reached the final first season, a huge part of that is how they play the game which is inherently similar to us and Anfield on CL nights. SJP should be even better.

That not just where the hoardings that the clocks next to the dugouts were on have been taken out? Read that because of UEFA rules regarding hoardings we've had to take them out but unsure if that's bullshit.

The bloke in your avatar imo.

It's about time we did Liverpool, like. Last time we did Wijnaldum scored for us. 16:30 kick off time in two weeks hopefully allows the crowd to be fully bevved up and make it the ground really nasty for them. Klopp is heinous and I'll never forget their fans booing our team off at Anfield last season.

Jacob Murphy when he dinked Ederson in our first season back in the PL under Benitez. Lost 3-1. Previous to that was Mitrovic in a game in which we were much the better side first half, took the lead, had a wrongly disallowed goal that would've put us 0-2 up yet we proceeded to cave in and lose 6-1. Last time we got a result in the league there was November 2006, a 0-0 draw. We've never won in the league at the Etihad and have beaten Man City away only once in the PL, in September 2000. Before I was born.

Nah, East Stand same as me.

Aye, fairs. Just found it odd how a mate of mine went up before me at 16:45ish yet he missed kick off. I got to my seat mid way through Local Hero.

Fuck me, he's good.

I wouldn't be surprised. Queue was down Terrace Place. People standing in what they think is a queue but they're actually cutting into it which annoyed people; wouldn't be surprised if it kicks off if that keeps happening. Scanning the tickets to actually get in took no time at all, stewards were telling people what to do, where to scan et cetera so I've no idea why the queue was so bad.

My favourite player at the club. He's unreal. From his ability, footballing IQ, work rate and personality; everything about him I love.

Getting into the ground was a bit of a nightmare yesterday. Got to the ground between 16:50 and 17:00 and I've never seen a queue like it. Got into the ground midway through Local Hero. Do not know a single upside of digital tickets.

Hungover to fuck again. Ahhh it's good to be back. Tonali or Isak MOTM for me. We are very good at playing association football. Didn't want to jinx it by mentioning beforehand but the last time Aston Villa won at St James' Park I hadn't even started primary school. Always nice to see that run continue.

What a fucking side we are

Slept on it. Bad idea. Be having 7 instead.

Looking forward to 5pm.

After sleeping on it, yeah 10 or 15 minutes earlier.

The whole team was tbf, especially 2nd half. But that was against a Villa side with a caretaker in charge. If they play with a high line I think Isak would be the better fit given his pace compared with Wilson's. Plus he's our future through the middle. Love Callum but Isak should be starting most of our games in the striker spot. Thought it'd be Gordon tbh. Especially if he doesn't hit the ground running this season.

It isn't on most occasions tbh.

They're really pushing fans to get in early, even got the players to record a message saying so. Guess they're anticipating this going absolutely tits up. I'll be 8 pints deep and getting to the ground any time between 17:05-17:20 like in any normal previous season for a 17:30 kick off.

In open play games like Leeds away, Palace away, Bournemouth home and away I agree. But other games such as Chelsea away, Leicester at home, Leeds at home, Palace at home, West Ham at home; it was down to finishing and missing numerous chances (refereeing as well tut tut). I think it's an issue but it's less of an issue than I probably first thought.

Given the way it was built up in that episode thinking back to that Southampton semi final, don't remember being worried/nervous at all personally tbh. We were 1-0 up on aggregate going into a 2nd leg at home against the team that was bottom of the league. If we were in any danger of ever losing that especially after going 2 nowt up on the night it would've been a bit of a disgrace tbh. Also remember being more gutted about Bruno getting sent off than elated about getting to the final. Suppose I'm just a miserable cunt.
