Winning automatic promotion from the championship becomes more difficult each year.  Each year you could pick the promotion candidates fairly easy, any 2 from 5. Now it's any 2 from 10  . The quality of the relegated teams is so much higher and they come down with money to spare.  The crap managers like Fat Sam, Hughes, Pardew , Pullis etc are being overlooked more and more in favour of younger coaches.

I doubt Bruce could do it now against the managerial opposition out there which was proved  at Villa where he had the most expensive team in the championship.   I'm sure he is a nice guy but sadly he's thick and has no tactical nous whatsover and todays players soon see through that

I know a lot of people are saying they want us to lose and get relegated in order to get rid of Ashley, and I can see the logic, but I find it very hard. When you meet friends from outside the area you end up feeling ashamed of your own club. It was on hold while Rafa was here because you could convince them he was turning things round. But Bruce...my God it's f***ing embarrassing. You end up avoiding the topic of football altogether.

Exactly. I just say I'm neutral. I was in a pub in Yorkshire watching the Man City v Tottenham  match and someone asked me who I support and I'd have died of embarrassment saying bruceys boys. I just said nobody.

I work away and can't even go home as I know my dad will be cheering Bruce on and I can't deal with it I would have to do something else then be annoyed Ashley is making me have to go out my way to avoid games.
