Some mental takes ok here like, why would he not sign for Chelsea over us? It’s an absolute no brainer if you put yourself in his shoes.
You’re coming down with a nasty case of Low Toon Esteem. Have a stottie immediately!

Who is working at Asda????
Nobody soon. Major recruitment crisis looming. Only one person likes green and he’s shit at football. It’s worrying; keep up.

I really don't like how this end of the season/start of the summer is developing.
- First the Ashforth saga
- Bruno's release clause is being made public with teams circling around
- Then missing out on European football because of the scums FA Cup win
- Missing out on Adarabioyo who we seemed to had a free pass on
Feel good factor for the summer gone.
There’s a a Firth of ‘Worth’ wide chasm between your take and mine. It’s easy to get sucked into speculation (see the Tosin nailed on narrative), scaremongering (Bruno), the disappointing but largely irrelevant (ECL), and totally irrelevant (DoF stuff), in the football journalistic void we have entered. We’ll do what we need to do, will have multiple targets, and are as likely to have some nice surprises as we are to have disappointments.

Had a dream last night that we beat Bournemouth 9-1 on the opening day of the season so anything less than that and I'll be disappointed.
Three hatricks, Osimhen, Isak and Mbeumo?

Didn’t realize how much I had missed the way Waddle moves.
Watch young Lewis Miley running with the ball, next then you get the opportunity. Really reminds me of Waddler.

I was an absolute legend, in my own mind. Best position: left back in the changing room. Played against Gazza and taught him everything he knows—about coping with life.
Joking aside, played at a decent level as a boy but I would have been far better if I played to my physical strengths: tall athletic/good engine but wanted to be a dribbler/winger or playmaker type. Suspect I would have stood out more, and made a much better, central defender. -

Definitely fondly remembered by me. Considering the other's being released he was good value and a character
Best season for was in Championship and making us sing that song all night: 12 goals, plenty of involvement critical to promotion and, therefore, all that came next.

Does that cover Tosin’s wages??

Good luck young man. Plenty of players have taken a setback like this and gone on to thrive. Hope he’s one of them.

Farewell sweet prince. 190 ish games 20 broken corner flags… . Key to winning Championship trophy. Good player for us and great personality to have around the place.
-
150 odd PL appearances; 45 in Championship winning season. 12 seasons in total. Plenty of meaningful contributions and a great asset for a long time. Farewell sweet prince. Hope you tag on a couple of seasons additional playing time and have plenty of fun in the twilight years.

Bloody Man Utd. Their lowest ever PL finish, we eventually finish above them, then they go and win the FA Cup and secure European football; at our expense to boot. Is your name Kevin @Froggy and do you have a full length sheepskin jacket.

Yep. Do we also think Hall will be a starter next season?
He’s shown he’s capable. Don’t think he’s at the point where it is his shirt to lose, but imagine he will play a significant number of games.

He turned down Chelsea’s offer,
Said no to Man United too,
He came to wear the black and white,
He’s here for me and you,Oh Tosin, oh Tosin,
You’re our Geordie pride,
You chose the mighty Toon Army,
And left the rest behind! From Stamford Bridge to Old Trafford,
They all wanted you,
But Tosin saw the glory,
Of playing for the Toon!Oh Tosin, oh Tosin,
You’re our Geordie pride,
You chose the mighty Toon Army,
And left the rest behind!🎵
😂 premature but funny and I’m sure you could weave in slow Manc bastard if it doesn’t come to pass.

Just a joy to watch. That combination vision, touch, technical skill and passion. What a player, what a man.

I somewhat agree with you, I just think we could find a better player to do what he does. Joe Willock doesn't get a game for anyone who finished above us in the league imo.
I know ‘availability’ is in the forefront of everyone’s mind after last season. However when he is fully fit, I think Joe is a better player than he was when he played for Arsenal and has nothing to prove as far as I’m concerned. He has everything you need capability wise to be an absolutely top drawer midfielder. He also seems a top man to have in your team. He turns 25 this year and the next two seasons or three seasons could/should be the peak of his career.

Oh dear. No. 2 post hasn’t benefited from ‘helpful’ feedback.

You're right of course - but most players will still go to where the money and trophies are
Well if they have their head screwed on there are numerous examples of that not being the rewarding strategy.

Thought I would check the cost of the 1995-96 squads (everyone 10+ appearances) NUFC vs MUFC.
Their transfer fees totalled £17.28m for 16 players. 6 of the 16 came up through the youth teams. Only two players were bought in the previous two years (May and Cole).
Our transfer fees totalled £34.1m for 16 players. 3 of the 16 came up through the youth teams. Ten of the players were bought in the previous two years (Asprilla and Batty mid way in 1996).
We’ve heard/thought loads about what made the difference that season. Perhaps having a settled team who were used to playing together (not just the winning habit) was important too.

I'm not saying the lad is a mercenary or owt, but it would be naive to think that being sold 'a project' is likely to make a footballer accept a lower wage.
I wouldn't - so I'm not judging them.
You might if the numbers in the lower offer still set you up for life. A life that would be likely to be happier if you were a key part of a good team, surrounded by people you got on with, in a great atmosphere, with everyone pulling in the same direction.

Under Keegan we never invested as much as Man U did and they won everything at the time.
Is that true? Genuine question. I think that most of Man Utd’s title winning side 1995-96 were home grown. Whereas our team that season were mainly bought in.
