He's not in the team because the experts have judged that he's ready. He's in the team because there are no other options. He looks ready now - despite the experts not thinking he's ready.
This is my issue with some people. They act like everything is part of a master plan. If not for injury crisis Hall would be sitting on the bench getting few minutes.,
Well, we’ll never know. But we do know that Paully D isn’t starting or Alex Murphy for that matter.

Agreed.
I think Howe went too cold with Hall a few months ago. I won't give him massive credit for Hall's form now because he's had no choice. I give him credit for getting the tune out of him now. I wish he had a bit more faith in the lad awhile ago.
As you say - serendipity is real. Injuries have given us a run of games of what the future looks like at fullback for us and it does indeed look good. If not for injury crisis both FBs would be on the bench getting few minutes.
Guess that means you are super confident that he would have performed well if brought in earlier. It did seem odd—all sorts of theories about not tripping a minimum number of appearances clause were doing the rounds—but maybe it is just about trusting the judgement of the experts. The experts who sees him in training and who can gauge when he is ready and when, perhaps despite obvious potential, he is not. Certainly looks ready now which is the most important thing.

That was my thinking yes, keep Wilson and bring a versatile forward player in (like Gordon and Isak are). Ofcourse if Wilson leaves then that does change things in some ways but doesn't mean he can't be replaced by a versatile forward player and still bring in another out and out RW.
My biggest worry with Wilson is that he'll get injured during pre-season and then we've screwed ourselves out of getting any money for him and also our sqaud is considerably weaker without much chance of bringing in a replacement.
Similar thoughts. I think Howe seems fantastic at creating a team ethos, a sense of belonging. There comes a time, especially with the current financial rules, when we have to ruthlessly get income when we can.
Maybe with the ridiculous injury crisis we have had this year being so fresh in his mind, and all the ‘might have beens,’ which could have been within our grasp with a full squad/more options, might sway him/others to get money for who we can when we can. For Wilson that is now.

when you don't captain Haaland - of course he scores a hattrick
Could be worse. I decided to buy him back, but missed the deadline for this week.

Looks a lock for the England squad.
Gordon, Palmer, Foden, Bowen some good interchangeable new options.

He's 21 in a shite team. See Pickford & Ramsdale, to a lesser extent Meslier who I still think will be a top class keeper in a few more years.
Didn’t realise Trafford was so young. Might well be on our radar!

Yeah I've just seen the goal again this morning and it's a fantastic save, that's going in 9 times out of 10.
We might yet buy another Burnley keeper! Despite conceding four, I thought he had a good game.

Currently just 5 goals off matching 1993-94 for our best ever goal scoring PL season.
Relatively speaking, this is our highest scoring PL season. We are on 79 already (2.26 goals per game; GD 23). Eddie’s team also achieved our third highest scoring season last year (4th now).
Converting all PL seasons to 38 games (was 42 in our first two seasons) means that best we have done previously is:
1993-94, 1.95 gpg, so 74 overall (82 actually scored) GD 41;
2001-02, 74 scored GD 22;
2022-23 scored 68, 1.79 gpg, GD 35; 2002-03 scored 63, 1.66gpg, GD 15; 1999-00 scored 63, GD 9.

Watching on some mad Irish channel and they’re spending the buildup talking about how bad out signings were and how Howe is under loads of pressure
Oh, and how Bruno is always looking for his next move.
Fuck me, sounds tortuous. Suggest you keep in mind how much TVs cost IW.

Their form since the binned Mowbray, echoes our darkest days under Pardew and Carver. Proper fallen off a cliff!
He was just what they needed. Without knowing the reasons, seemed a crazy decision and proving to be one.

We'd have won at least 4 trophies this season with him in the side.
Joking aside, I’m confident that an ‘on it’ Tonali would have made a positive difference. Maybe progressing in the Champions League, 4 or 5 points in the league, and perhaps another domestic cup final (or two).

I think you’re right. He is saying thank you, showing reciprocal respect, for the touching Brazillian flag display.
