  1. Does anyone know if he’s trained? Typically Howe doesn’t include anyone who wasn’t in the preparation for the game.

if he is fit I’d give him the first half so we get our business done early in the match. Then begin resting who we need.

If it was bad he’d have been off straight away, he went over on his ankle and it had that sort of reaction where there’s a bit of weakness/numbness where it leaves you sort of shaky when walking running, we’ve all done it at some point.. it’ll be fine in a few days, but unfortunately it won’t resolve itself for the second half.

Based on what though? Sounds like he wanted to be part of the project here while many of our targets didn't

And yes there were plenty on here who said that Lingard turned us down

Based on his instagram posts over the last few years. He’s an immature clown.

  4. I like how we’re sort of in touching distance of this “title race”, the way I see it, European fixtures will start up in a few weeks and that will have a knock on effect on the results of those around or above us.

I don’t for a minute think we’re in a title race but the longer we’re in that conversation the more likely it’ll be that a top 4 place could happen by end of season.

  5. The revisionism is mental regarding Chris Wood.

We were a side who couldn’t keep the ball out of our own box, nothing was sticking further up the pitch. We also had a major injury to Wilson (v Man Utd iirc).

He gave us a focal point to get further up and pitch and get the results needed to reach safety, whether it was the few goals he scored or just general link up play leading to an assist. Just keep in mind that the hard work was done by the time Wilson returned.

Just because he’s been exposed as a weak link in how we’re playing now, does not dismiss his contribution. His fee was/is irrelevant because without him coming in we could be playing in the Championship right now. It’s that simple.

  6. I thought it was a very well rounded performance, previously in certain situations (ie every time he got the ball) he’d just put the head down and try and beat 5 players, lose it somewhere in the middle of his efforts and we’d be suddenly defending.

Today he had the head up and was looking for the simple pass, he took on players when the time was right and maybe should have had a goal.

What I’m impressed with is that he’s obviously been listening to our manager in terms of what he wants and he’s showing he wants to be back in the first 11.

  7. There’s a reason Eddie Howe has him as one of the first names on the team sheet. He’s a work horse and he’s regaining his confidence by the week, a couple of goals will do wonders for him.

He’s one of those players who’s easy to dismiss as someone who’s easily replaceable/upgradable, but that work rate would be missed in any team.

  9. Bruno Willock Longstaff is an ok midfield to put out. Isak, Wilson and Almiron up front.

Joelinton isn’t a bad option to bring on if needed, but then also, we may not need so in that case Howe will just leave him sitting.

  10. Well, recently in terms of actually losing a game and all the debate about the squad, big Joe and his brush with Johnny Law and all these other fucking minor grievances, that just a few years ago we were in some sort of deranged coordinated fashion, going after celebrities on twitter who Keith Bishop represented and hassling any companies associated with him or Mike Ashley by leaving salty reviews on Trustpilot.

A little perspective can go a long way.

  11. It’s disappointing.. it’s not like we have a dressing room full of twats.. there’s good influences wherever you turn.

Not sure how over the limit he was, did he have 2 drinks? I totally agree 1 drink is too many but what I mean is will he be treated fairly by a judge or made an example of?

Youd really think that the club would have some sort of Michael Clayton/Ray Donovan type behind the scenes to sweep up these messes.

  12. He’s basically a similar player to what Lascelles is. Both huge lugs that would both have been classed as great players back in the late 80’s or some other time when end to end long balls were the order of business. Both prone to the exact same brain farts that instills panic amongst teammates in todays fast and tactical game. Both have been sussed out however they paid far more for their one so it’ll take them way longer to wash their hands because of the fee involved.
