Last I saw, Watford had refused to release him but I see now he is leaving. That's good news for us.

Aslong as it only drags on until tomorrow morning, we need him and a new striker in for Watford. Don't even want to imagine our backline (even with Trippier) against Dennis & Sarr.

I'd be okay with this. Fairly low outlay for a CB that's better than what we have and he's still fairly young at 24. 85apps in 4 years at West Ham so he's actually played more than I thought he had, always assumed he'd been 3rd/4th choice.

That is a good point, especially considering Brazil aren't blessed with CBs right now. However I don't think a player not being an International (current or otherwise) should put us off. His temperament and rash tackling is something that would though.

I don't see what could possibly be gained from playing him against Cambridge, even for 10 minutes. He played 90mins last weekend so doesn't need the match fitness. We'll need him playing every minute if our league fixtures for the rest of the season. Howe would get alot of stick if he brings him on at any point and he gets injured. Have him on the bench and send him out to warm up every 20 minutes to get the crowd going a bit and that'll be good enough.

Agree with this. I wouldn't be risking any half decent player we have (Wilson/ASM/Trippier/Big Jo/Dubravka) in any cup game right now. It just isn't worth it! There's lots of squad players and U23s who need a game and the match fitness.

I think there's a few "sources" who have claimed that's exactly what he wants to do. Works well in alot of circumstances, one to apply pressure/win headers and the other to drop off and sweep behind.

Martial would be superb for either a 6 month loan or as a permanent signing. However, I'm fairly sure he's injured right now and has had injury issues for alot of this season. Perhaps isn't worth the risk.

28yrs old, made roughly 250apps for overall. 7 red cards in that time and 50 something yellows. Seems more of a Ramos than a Pique CB if you catch my drift.

Potentially you're right. I think there's a few strikers we have been linked with who you would say are capable of being the main goalscorer / No9. Vlahovic is the one that springs to mind. If were looking to soend £40m plus on a forward they are going to be vying for Wilsons spot.

Linked with Matheus Nunes from Sporting. Looks decent from what I've just seen. 23yr old, all round midfielder, strong, quick and 3 caps for Portgual so far. Doesn't look like he'd be to pricey either. Between €10-€20m. Also born in Brazil so would link well with our other Brazilian midfielder

Darlow is one I could see us offloading. Dubs as first choice with Woodman and 2nd and Gillespie 3rd. Clark for sure but as for the other defenders it could be any really. Would be harsh on Dummett but that's reality now. Hendrick is gone I reckon, he's barely featured this season. I think both Longstaffs could do with a loan move to a decent league/club. Gayle will interest any club in the Championship so I can imagine he'll go fairly soon once we get a striker in.

All depends on how many we get in at CB. If we get 2 proper decent ones then I'd not be bothered about him going. If he wants to leave now just when it's starting to look up for the club then more fool him. Or perhaps he hasn't got the stones to stay and fight for his place. He can go play for Real Betis or wherever.

Would be quite incredible if we could get him in this month. If not then assuming we stay up he would be in the top 3 dream signings.

First post after lurking for a while. Disappointing if true that Digne isn't a possibility but there's plenty of other options out there at LB. Wijndal and Tagliafico are the 2 that come to mind. Also I'd take PEA but only on a 6 month loan and only if he were one of two strikers we brought in as we really do need someone in ASAP while Wilson is out for however long.
