Maddison out would be huge, they'd have almost zero creativity in midfield if so. Gray would be a bonus if out as well, they'd have to do something drastic to fill that CB spot then.

I'm not suggesting spending £50M this month without any outgoings. We'd need Miggy and one other (Wilson/Targett/Trippier) out to even start considering spending that amount. Qualifying for Champions League next year will make our summer business alot less difficult.

And same goes for players out of contract at other clubs. Lots of very good free signings to be made this summer. That being said, if we can spend £30-£50M this January to really try and finish 5th or higher then that will make the summer much easier for us.

Seems like not only have they got alot of injuries and suspensions, there's been illness in the Spurs group this week. Could be even more depleted by Sunday hopefully.

Wilson is different to Isak though and so is Osula. Without spending £50M+ I think we'd find it impossible to bring in a striker who plays the same way as Isak, and even then it may not be possible. I'd be interested in seeing if we go for Jonathan David for free in the summer. He's not the same as Isak but definitely capable of dropping deep or shifting out wide just like Isak does, yet he's also a box poacher.

Gordon, Hall, Tino, Solanke, Madison and maybe Archie Gray. Fair few for him to watch, so it's no surprise. Plus it means he could easily get to the Brighton game in the evening if he really wanted to.

Spurs actually have the players to hurt us in attack and at least some semblance of balance in midfield. Man Utd had neither of those things. This won't be as easy and having Schar out doesn't help in transition to try and counter attack them.

I'd be content with just improving the squad in this window. Can't see anyone coming in January and taking a first team spot this season.

And rightly so. But I cannot see that happening, Hall is now integral to how we play. I imagine Botman won't be match/Howe fit for a couple of months anyway. Only need to look at how he managed Tonali coming back in and he wasn't even injured. I'm putting this out there. Botman won't play a full 90 minutes until March.

Don't blame TAA for wanting to leave. That Madrid team has some proper knobs in it but I imagine he'll end up winning the lot in the space of 4/5 years there. Plus he's good mates with Bellingham.

They are, so need to sell this window or next. I would say Villa have more mid level (£20-£40M) saleable players than us though. We have potentially more high level ones (£50M+) but ALOT who are virtually worthless.

Oh yes ofcourse! Point still stands though, he'd be a perfect free summer signing. Trippier out and KWP in would be great business. The fact he can cover both full backs really well is huge.

Shit having Schar out for this but Kelly will be fine for a couple of games. Means Trippier needs to start ideally as we'll need his long passing more than ever without Schar.

Id like to get a Kyle Walker-Peters pre signed this month. He's out of contract in the summer and would cover both Tino and Hall. He's been the one of the few good things about Southampton this season.

Hall is too good at LB now. He's not just a stop gap anymore. His stats are through the roof. Burn will be rested now and again, which he no doubt needs.

It's much more unusual though to see a left footer at LCB. Perhaps only because left footers are a rarer commodity. Either way I'd rather see Kelly at RCB for Spurs. That's alot of pressure on Sven otherwise.

They've got a tricky patch of games coming up. They play alot of teams in the top 8 in the next 10 games. In fact I think just Wolves (in good form currently) in their next game and Southampton after that aren't current top 8 teams in their next 10 games. If they are still top 4 by end of January that will be hugely impressive and then I might start to think they can continue it until end of season.

Even missing Schar for Spurs is going to cause an issue with no other RCB available. That in itself is no issue but then what happens if Hall is also out and then Isak is out at the same time. Like you say, we're only 2 or even 1 (Isak) big injury away from scrambling around in 8th/9th again very quickly.

Can't wait for these automated offsides to come in. Reckon that'll bump up his numbers by atleast 5 goals a season.
