As most of you know. I am Spanish. And I am Atletico Supporter who loves Newcastle since I was 13 or 14. I usually follow too much international football and youth tournaments (although every day I have less time). I don't follow him in Brazilian League (He played in Athletico Paranaense) but I started heard about him when Atletico tried to sign in in 2019. Atletico signed his teamate Renan Lodi, and get and buying option for Bruno. Bruno was amazed to go Atletico Madrid, but Atletico had never have the Money (20M per 80%) to get him and the buying option expired. Then, he was signed for OL His firsts months was very hard because he had to acclimatize to Europe, to a new life, to another rythm. But at the end, he improved a lot. He is the typical '5'. We spoke before about Merino, he could be more or less similar. Not so much physical, but very smart with the ball. He could be similar to Ruben Neves

The man has the same agent than Diego Carlos. We did believe Sevilla we want DC but we want Bruno.
-
And he (Merino) was very young. He is 25yo and get out 4 years ago... He was a baller.
-
Merino's level just before leaving was very high
-
Then Tarkowski will relegate with Burnley in may and in june he will be free to sign with the team he want.
-
Tarkowski is for free in Summer. Probably Burnley prefers to get 8-10 millions (And I think this is much) for him right now than nothing in 5 months

@Trensa Is a Newcastle and Sevilla fan? Or is just a Sevilla fan in the forum because Diego Carlos thread? Trensa, You and me could speak spanish if the mates doesn't matter

I hope we got Senesi. Last time we sign a argentinian raised in San Lorenzo Academy was a great deal.

Now the Spanish League stops. Sevilla's next match is in 11 days. It may be that they have stretched the decision to be able to 'reassemble' the team at this end of the market. The problem for them is that they really only have two centre-backs (Kounde and Diego Carlos). Then there is Rekik, who is the substitute central defender, but who really has a lower level than Diego Carlos and Kounde (and who has also played as a left back). And then there is Gudelj, who is a midfielder who has had to play as a central defender against the short squad. In addition, Kounde has been injured for the last few weeks, so they couldn't afford to sell Diego Carlos 10 or 12 days ago because otherwise they would have had to play with a defense made up of Gudelj and either Rekik or a youth player. I think that in these 5-6 days Diego Carlos can leave, but Sevilla has to sign one (or two) central defenders.

You can ask me this, but really my opinion here is worth little because I know the same as all of us who are here. Anything. But what I do believe is that if Newcastle makes the offer that SKY said before (€45M), Diego Carlos will come.
-
As i told you, different situations. Kounde was 22 (last summer) and contract until 2024. He probably will be sell next summer, and and he knows and Sevilla too. And, if Sevilla get to coontinue him next season, Kounde knows he still has more than 10 years of career and with his level he get much better options in the future. Diego Carlos is 29 next month and he is in his last option to get the big contract of his career and contract to 2024 too. If you are asking me for the level of Kounde, yes. For me, Kounde was better last season.

I'm sorry, but the world of transfers, renewals and agents works like that. "Hey, there is a team that pays more than double for my player and we have decided to stay, but you are going to have to improve our salary considerably because our cache is now that." It happens every day. And if Sevilla doesn't do it, 'surprisingly' from next season Diego Carlos' level will decrease.
-
Just to be fair. How much can Sevilla pay to Diego Carlos? He is earning more or less 3M (Gross Salary) per year. Trippier is believe to be earning 9-10M (Gross Salary) per year. The double he earned in Atletico (Atletico is the 7th team in the world with highly salaries). Maybe 5-6M per year for Diego Carlos?? And what is the 'target' for Sevilla in the next Champions League? Round of 16? Diego Carlos is 28 or 29yo. He is in the top moment to get the best (and probably the last) contract in his life. If you are telling me if he stays in Sevilla and Sevilla could have options to win the next UCL I told you 'ok, is normal Diego Carlos want to stay at Sevilla'. But Diego Carlos is going to press to get out because he knows the situation. If Sevilla want him to stay, they have to increase his earns more than double.... And I don't know if it is possible.

Sevilla is a team that bases its policy on selling players getting a good performance. His most expensive departure is Ben Yedder (35-36M) and they have sold players to top teams like Alves, Ramos, Lenglet, Vitolo, Bacca, Negredo or Gameiro. Probably they are thinking in a price betwen 36 to 40 millions and become him in his new most expensive departure. PS: First time almost in his story, Sevilla are fighting to win the League. They have won only one... So probably is a situation to could be high the final price.

I guess, Diego Carlos is the B plan from Botman Both of them plays as a left center back. Botman is left footed, so he only can play in the left side. Diego Carlos is right footed, and he played in Nantes as a right center back, but in Sevilla all the time this years he have played as a left centar back.

In my opinion. Diego Carlos is obviously better than some of our defenders, like Clark. He is very very good in the air game. And tactically he is usually very well placed. He has very good control when it comes to playing with the ball. But I see some problems. First of all, Sevilla have a defensively very compact team with very generous players in defence. Diego Carlos plays alongside Koundé (who is really good) and is always supported by his winger Acuña (who is a player with a lot of energy) as well as having a pivot in front of him like Fernando (ex Man City) who is at a superb level . Also, his goalie (Bono) is having the best season of his life. Thus, it is normal for Sevilla to go up and have very few goals conceded. They play in a ball possession system. It's something that Howe is really trying to implement or improve in his first games, but we don't have a team for it yet. Diego Carlos plays the ball well from behind, but this sometimes plays tricks on him, because he can be trusted and make mistakes. But for me, the main problem is that he is a player who, despite being very very strong, is very slow in short movements (like Lascelles). This makes him a very good defender in direct play, but he has more problems when it comes to defending teams that try to play more on the touch of the ball. (He is the player in all leagues who has committed the most penalties in the last 2-3 years with 10 penalties...) The context in which he would find himself in Newcastle is very different from the one he has in Seville. Because at Sevilla, almost always, he has to go running in the open field or playing in superiority against few defenders. On the other hand ... I doubt very much what his level can be when the rivals can lock us up. Being a player who would improve us (it's not very difficult either), he wouldn't be my first choice.
