  1. I'm enjoying learning about whether Jeff Hendrick is shit enough for their team. And I still think he's less shit than Luke O'Nien, the mackems just couldn't pay Hendrick's wages. But he's definitely shit enough for sunderland.
  2. 'Didn't happen of the year awards' - sunderland edition
  3. It's like having a wank to a photo of yourself
  4. Milanista is a good poster, and I like reading his comments - but it looks like he's had a 'mare here. This starting to look nailed-on.
  5. Perfectly reasonable call-out either way mate - I was a bit groggy and completely misread the original post. And even if I hadn't, as soon as I re-read it I thought I'd been a bit of a wanker!
  6. I'd already stated I'd misread it and apologised
  7. Sorry Ed misread it as being after gross. 5:45am here and my brain hasn’t switched on yet
  8. £4m per year isn’t £77k/wk
  9. It looks more like a Monet than a pap photo
  10. ‘Sandro from Meee-lan-oh, I bet that’s Italian for Milan, is it?’
  11. Great post, but just to pick you up on ‘if Rice is £100m so is Tonoli’ - not how it works I’m afraid. I’m not arguing that Rice is better than Tonoli - but English players attract a massive premium due to UEFA regs on ‘home’ players. In effect, being English adds (conservatively) 50% to a player’s value in England.
  12. But his team being relegated and the contract having a year to run do factor into it - as does the lack of big name suitors at present. In six months he can talk to clubs about leaving for nowt.
  13. Just watched the highlights. It’s a thoroughly mediocre side in Brazilian terms - in my lifetime, the c.1990 Brazil side was as bad as it got. We all love Joelinton - but let’s be honest, he doesn’t get near most Brazil sides from our lifetimes.
  14. Poor old Des. Genuinely saw him trip over his own feet when put through on goal away to Derby, Boxing Day 1997. Felt sorry for him that day tbh.
  15. I mean, they have played in Europe before. Once. Briefly.
  16. We’d sign Maddison and play him right wing? Has he played right wing? It actually feels like a waste of a creative midfielder tbh
  17. A mediocre midfield racist. The worst kind of racist.
  18. I keep reading that he’s picked Spurs over us. Have we bid for the lad? I know we bid late in the last summer transfer window but Leicester wanted crazy money. After that we’ve made no more approaches, but the press says we’re ‘interested’ whenever there is a slow news week.
  19. Didn’t know Dan Ashworth was one of those daft cunts who do troll bids on eBay
  20. Ashley is the biggest difference. Spurs weren’t a more attractive club pre-Ashley. I still think it’ll take another season or two or doing better to move the balance back.
  21. I’ve said it on here a few times, but he ‘feels’ like a Spurs player to me. Lightweight, looks canny on MOTD, hides when it really counts. He’ll get the love from me if he signs, though.
  22. Spectacular and bigger new ground, higher turnover, better recent track record, higher wages on offer, likely to return to Europe next season, and in London (the players are unlikely to suffer the consequences of living in NE London - they’ll live in a completely different part of it).
  23. Human rights abusing dictatorships using their slush funds to buy foreign football clubs is pretty much the definition of a bad thing for me. I can’t be arsed with the moralising from other supporters though - as if they’d do owt different. And the sport has changed, so this stuff occurs (though the PL did change the rules in April, which will potentially stop future similar takeovers)
