  1. Yep, if we match Liverpool‘s next two results it’s over mathematically. I think we will tbh - Brighton and Leicester won’t be pushovers (both will be difficult games I think) but I think those travelling to Stamford Bridge will be going down to see if we finish 3rd or 4th
  2. At present our GD is +7 better off. If we take 5 points in the remaining three games it can only improve by a minimum of +1. I don’t see Liverpool thrashing Villa. They could thrash Southampton. I think Leicester will put up a fight. I still think they’ll draw to either Villa or Leicester at a minimum. I’m pretty convinced four more points is likely to wrap this up.
  3. I’ve read that a few times and I’m still not sure what you mean?
  4. Because they’re Leeds. A right cuddly bunch.
  5. While I think Trippier’s balls in haven’t been the greatest, he does usually at least get it ‘in the mixer’ - he rarely hits first man. I honestly don’t know why we put up Burn, Botman and Schar - we always look more likely to concede from a counter attack than score ourselves.
  6. All of them are terrible in the air - certainly attacking-wise, and I usually find there are a lot of heart-in-mouth moments defensively. A mate texted me saying that’s one clean sheet in 17 games. Can’t be arsed to check, but that abysmal for any side in any division if true. The entire back line looks wobbly to me - Burn takes most of the flak from what I’ve seen (Trippier’s performances have also started to be criticised), but Botman and Schar haven’t exactly looked great for some time either.
  7. Always the way with all clubs, BG - we’re no different. Robson shouldn’t have remained in position the following season after his retirement was announced as a lame duck manager.
  8. 9 for me still. I think we take four points minimum next three games. I do think Liverpool will have a slip in one of their games.
  9. Yeah, that’s daft - though it can get stressful at this point. Most of that I’d put down to the blood pressure and adrenaline being up - if folks still think that way on Sunday morning then they’re being a bit premature for me.
  10. It’s a bit of an odd one, the bed-wetting stuff. I think this season has been fantastic, about 95% of the matches the players gave everything and were superb, I think we’ll get top four, I thought we were shite today. Does that last one mean I’m a bed wetter?
  11. Only bit which truly frustrated me was with two mins injury time left he gives away a daft foul - and then picks the ball up and walks over to argue. He needs his neck wound in quick with that stuff - it runs the clock down and loses momentum. I’m also unaware of many occasions in 160 years of the codified game that picking the ball up and shouting at the ref results in the decision being overturned.
  12. Yes, and much of the criticism I’ve seen on here is aimed at the ‘trying’ not the ‘winning’ part. I tend not to be overtly critical after draws / defeats - but when the team half-arse their way through a game - i.e. don’t try - that’s a problem. Also, no-one is criticising the club’s ambition.
  13. I remember that game. Keegan said afterwards that their ‘desperation was greater than our aspiration’, which I always thought was a canny quote, and also a nuanced dig at our performance.
  14. Honestly, it wasn’t much of a dogfight - it was just a low intensity, poor quality game of football. Once we went 2-1 up we played like it was a training match.
  15. Ok, fair dos - apologies from me; clearly a misinterpretation on my behalf
  16. I responded directly to the point in your post - your post looked like it implied that I’d written that they were bottlers.
  17. Not against that Leeds side - or at least it isn’t guaranteed.
  18. I thought they were poor, and didn’t play with any greater intensity than any other side I’ve seen of late - other than Spurs.
  19. I never said that about them. I don’t think anyone has bottled anything. They were desperately poor today from front to back.
  20. I was anticipating a difficult game. The thing is, it wasn’t. Leeds were turgid
  21. I keep seeing people saying he’s injured, but if that’s true why play him? He’s not exactly undroppable at the moment
  22. Nah, that was shite today. It’s not drawing the game that is the issue, that was a performance which would have been equally criticised pre-2021
  23. Had us down the other week for a draw here, but fuck me that was a limp performance. The lack of urgency was frightening. They really miss Longstaff’s harrying in midfield. I’ve seen so many talk about Bruno being the best midfielder since Rob Lee - which he might be - but at the moment he’s also sharing Lee’s trait of tailing off in the second half of the season. Gordon and ASM somehow made us perform worse - Gordon’s habit of stupid challenges and wasting time arguing with the referee is likely to grow old fast, and ASM put in an old school ASM performance. The back line really needs work in the summer - it is being exposed weekly now for its frightening lack of pace. A no 5 and a LB needed in the summer. Though that shouldn’t mean Trippier’s form isn’t looked at critically - and FFS let someone else have a crack with dead balls. Two winnable home games to get the job done. We don’t want to be going to Stamford Bridge needing something - you can bet those fuckers will somehow turn up that day. Still think we’ll do this, but the ‘slow starts’ are becoming standard, and when we don’t get going we’re in trouble.
  24. Play like this and we aren’t getting another point
