Not strong enough, in my opinion
-
YES! I am not the person suggesting selling Bruno! I couldn't be more against that idea no matter what the price and certainly not for £120 million
-
Talented boy but limited end product... In my view we'd still need another more consistent right winger
-
Good question! Also how much would you value the impact selling our captain and leader would have on the dressing room? Hey Alex I know we've just punted your mate but please sign a new long term contract...
-
Totally disagree! Most of that would need to be spent on his replacement with no guarantee of performance on the pitch let alone off it! I understand PSR but don't agree with the endless calls to sell several players especially someone who rarely misses a game and is one the best performers week in week out... How much would Wharton or someone similar be to replace him? Even someone from the continent (which would increase the risk)?

Fuck me Froggy! Love the defence of your club and manager but fucking hell what a pile of shite! The comparison's to Eddie Howe are laughable but have been dealt with elsewhere... I think they'll stay patient with Amorin and ultimately as I fan I would as well after changing mid season but surely he has to show more and should have done by now. If the players can't play his system then you have to change systems short term to get them winning and improve the culture in the club, he gives the players an excuse for losing and players will always grab that as it is much easier than actually working your bollocks off and actually winning! He could still make moves behind the scenes to implement his style, culture, formation for the future and then deliver it from a stronger position... You know actually managing a team a la Eddie Howe and even Lego Heed at Arsenal. Another trait of managing \ coaching players is actually getting them fit for purpose... Luke Shaw is at least 2 stone overweight wtf has he been doing this season, injured or not a pro should not be that heavy and the manager should be making sure via physios etc. that a player is no where near the first time until that weight is shifted! He did one run down the wing and got accused of diving but I think he just collapsed under his own body weight! Also I noticed a comment (apologies if not by you) saying Amorin didn't do too much wrong last night... well apart from tactics \ shape \ late changes he didn't but that is at least 80% of his job! Still he hoyed the competition winner up front for the last ten minutes as always - fuck me tactical genius!

Totally agree! None of it was meant as a dig at Wilson, one of my favorites since Shearer... the way he & Bruno played against Arsenal, in the last home game of the take over season is still one of my best memories of being at St. James' Don't want to open a can of worms but I haven't seen a great deal from Osula that suggests he should be getting more minutes but I have a very limited sample as we all do I guess.

Much, much easier to force moves but part of that is the value of wages etc.
-
Gary Neville spoke recently about the pressure he put on himself in the final third and that his crossing was shit in his early years especially watching Giggs & Beckham pinging things in from both wings... He (Neville) worked hard visualizing that crossing was simply the same technique as dropping a ball into a channel for the centre forwards and his crossing massively improved! Channel balls are massively out of fashion now but given Tino's all round I'm sure he'll improve, all it takes his attitude and application! Both are easier to find that the talent to do it
-
Exactly this! Plus the figure would also include maximum bonuses he could have received also... absolute bollix what gets reported regarding wages
-
Years ago - pre Bosman the clubs had major power over players, probably more so on the continent than UK as we did have free transfers if a contract wasn't offered with wage parity. But the clubs could still threaten to hold registrations etc. and force players to accept insurance pay offs with long injury lay offs. Now I would say the balance has shifted totally to the players... they have the talent so you could argue rightly slow but it's maybe gone too far... Still doesn't excuse some of the vitriol I've read here recently but still it's easy behind a keyboard! He types from behind his keyboard
-
Provided Osula steps up then simply swapping Wilson for Mbuemo or similar player massively increases flexibility but it still leaves us very reliant on Isak but we always will be... As has been discussed \ argued several times it's tough virtually impossible to to sign someone when you have such a clear first choice for the role. We would effectively have 6 options for 3 spots provided Osula and Murphy are considered suitable back up
-
Exactly! If there are all these replacements available for less, why aren’t clubs buying them instead of Gordon? Also he’s been involved in two summer tournaments and probably needs a break. Summer off and full pre season and he’ll be flying again next year.

Plus I don't want any other trophy droughts to be ended this season to take away the spotlight from ours!
