  1. In my humble opinion, our strategic objectives differ from those of the clubs you mentioned. Our chairman has made it clear that our goal is to achieve the top position, and emulating those clubs will not lead us to that outcome. The strategy of having only two players on high salaries and the rest on average salaries limits our aspirations to the top four trophy. If we want to consistently compete for the title like Manchester City and Liverpool, we need to invest in at least ten players with salaries above 170k. As Darren mentioned in the first episode, there is a strong correlation between wage expenditure and league position.
  2. It's ridiculous, man. He wouldn't have started ahead of Almiron this season anyway. The kid has potential, sure, but we're making a 25 million profit on a player who's unproven and has never played for us. And let's be real, it's not like the Ashley years where the money won't be reinvested. With the current ownership and management, we know the money will be put back into the team.
  3. This is like City selling Phil Foden at 19. Minteh is meant to be good enough for where we want to be in a couple years. It’s not like selling James Trafford who would be on the bench for as long as Ederson is around. At 19, during the 2019/20 season, Foden participated in 38 games across all competitions, contributing 8 goals and 9 assists. The team finished as the second-place league finishers and went on to win the league the following year and have maintained their success since. While it may be challenging to make direct comparisons between players in different contexts, it is worth considering whether Yankuba could potentially surpass Almiron in the team's pecking order during the upcoming season.
  4. The majority of individuals would likely express concerns regarding our excessive financial commitment and emphasize the league's current financial difficulties. It is crucial to address our urgent need for an experienced and accomplished right winger. Failure to secure a position in the Conference League, at the very least, may result in the departure of key players such as Isak and Bruno. From a strategic standpoint, it would be prudent to consider selling this player for a sum of 33 million rather than risk losing our star players. It is highly probable that he would have been loaned out once again during the upcoming season. Brighton operates as a selling club and is content with its current position in the football hierarchy. They can anticipate finishing in 12th place next season without significant consequences. However, if we finish in 7th place once more and miss out on European competition, our top player may seek a transfer. Players such as Gordon, Botman, Isak, and Bruno have consistently emphasized the club's ambition and direction as primary factors influencing their decision to join. Consequently, I would advocate for the sale of any player within reach to retain these individuals.
  5. We don't challenge for Europe next season, isak Gordon and Bruno will be off.
  6. Foden was promised a clear path to the 1st team by Pep. Don't forget city sold Sancho and Palmer. Let's not cherry pick.
  7. Wilshere was hampered by injuries, which stopped him from progressing, he would have been world class if injuries didnt plague him. Willock is 23 and has plenty of time to improve under Eddie. I rate him higher than Connor Gallagher who is valued at 40 million and is in the England squad. How much do you think willock and longstaff are worth?
  8. at this stage in our development, can we really afford to purchase a player for 100 million and stick him out left? although Im in agreement with you, I would rather pay top dollar for a player who plays lw, rw, am and when needs must cf. ala foden, over grealish.
  9. our midfield players are all strong, athletic, high energy and can press, with only Bruno being creative. what we need in there is a cm who is like Bruno (here I would recommend the lazio cm we been linked too) and Gallagher. So we will have Bruno (lazio cm) longstaff (Gallagher) Joe (willock) and Anderson. that's 7. in defence I would want a young rcb and a left back. maybe sell one of krafth and manquillo. keep the rest atleast for one more season. upfront get Maddison (no brainer really) and a young player who can play across the front 3. That's 6 players
  10. we play 2 games before pool play their next game. 3 points from those games, will put us at 68 to Liverpools 62. still six points above them with 3 games to go. The pressure is on them, not us. I believe we got champions league footy all tied up after 20 mins v spurs.
  11. 5 games 5 draws gets us to 70. Liverpool have to perfect to get 71. They can't afford to slip up whereas we can. Am not worried at all.
