Even against a, in the context of the league, poor Everton side, the pretty horrendous transfer window was going to bite. The stuff played in general this season has looked a bit limited, but it's not a great shock given the lack of a RW, CDM and fully fit natural striker. I would rather see a bit more of Joe up top when there is no other striker fit though

Zola, Di Canio, Di Matteo, Vialli, Jorginho? They were OK? I would expect the likes of Pirlo, Buffon and Cannavaro would have managed it as well. Any kind of issue with Tonali, which is minor, isn't because of his Nationality.
