  1. Is what it is. much prefer us in what are closer to free hit games, find it better suits how Howe wants to play.
  2. I’m struggling to take as much of a positive on the first 30 minutes as some seem to want to. It’s quite a small % of the game the other 60 is far closer to what’s going to be the norm in a lot of games, teams camped in, allowing us the ball to break sides down, and it wasn’t that promising. A lot of it was very comparable to Goodison, its lacking purpose and accuracy.
  3. I don’t think he should go but I think it’s naive to think his future won’t become a serious conversation if things don’t change. We haven’t played well at all this season, it’s felt like results would catch up to performances and they are starting to. It doesn’t feel like we are just going to click into true form, that typically takes time, and by the time we get there it feels like we might at least be heading to a place where we find out if the owners want to get a true big name manager in, Eddie is heading to a place where he could be pretty vulnerable.
  4. It’s not knee jerk but it’s going to take a big change to see the season changing much based on the trajectory so far. It’s been a hard watch all season

    Lewis Hall

It’s only as a consequence of the crappy and likely verging on highly morally questionable restrictions we are under which make his fee seem a slight issue. He’s a 35 million pound player all day. He will box off LB for 10 years all being well.
  6. Gordon is a concern now England have broke him or he’s not entirely invested as he was. He is having a horrendous season His form, fitness and for 101 reasons the lack of work in the summer, we look to have gone backwards
  7. The Newcastle one, I don't expect us to get relegated
  8. Wolves still rock out Craig Dawson at CB, a steady, reliable player over the years but nothing like great. Given they are starting to look relegation in the face and appear to have a side lacking in much personality I would expect they would take a player who has done what Longstaff has the last few seasons for free. Brentford spent 13 million on a player who had only really been proven in Scotland, and nothing like the CV Longstaff has, so again I would expect they would take Longstaff for free. They are different positions but it puts perspective on where they are as clubs I don't know why it is being spoken about like Longstaff couldn't play for a lower tier EPL side when he has literally been playing for a side who have achieved more than that
  9. It's some struggle to me having watched the Everton game and the lack of an absolute killer in the box to see a serious case for not starting Isak. Decent as the display v City was same would probably apply, teams been calling out for a genuine point of attack, can press and win the ball back all day but you need someone you really trust who can score.
  10. I wouldn't be too arsed for seeing 3 CB's on the park plus a couple of full backs personally. As the likes of Arteta has alluded to pretty recently teams play about 30 or 40 formations during a game anyway these days, you want players who can go and play in a raft of those and go and do a shift in a loads of areas during a game. A "shape" of 3-5-2/3-4-3 is already played by us during games about 20 times but it is just used with the likes of Bruno taking the ball rather than someone like Kelly seeing more of it, or as has happened in the team posted above basically Kelly on the pitch at expense of Barnes, I would take a hard pass on that, I don't think that makes us better personally.

  12. You are overlooking a pretty relevant part of the world.
  13. English Rugby sides were predominantly rubbish in Europe for years, other than, Saracens, the team who broke the salary cap. Every other major side out with England would see an EPL salary cap as a chance to put their foot right on English teams throats.

    England

It looked like England hadn't been coached at all, an awful performance. Carsley needs to be building a far better CV and getting far more experience before he is anywhere near the England job full time, and a display like that was evidence of it, it really was complete garbage.
  15. ex Sunderland manager and happy to dress like, this doesn't sit well with me.

    Scott McTominay

I say this even as someone who is Scottish, McTominay is for the most part quite lazy during a game, the thought of wasting genuinely good football players like Bruno and Tonali grafting to get him the odd goal doesn't do much for me.
  17. It would have been quite the can of worms had Isak, AG or Bruno been sold.
  18. It would be a complete waste of Tonali and Bruno playing them as part of a 2 and fundamentally having to do a lot of defensive work, the pair of them should be playing with a more natural defensive midfielder behind them and unlocking a lot more of their creativity, ability to split lines and play in players who have absurd pace like Isak and Gordon, not those two players playing as 10s When Tonali is freed up a bit and playing in areas down the right he is a complete menace, he gives his RW and RB the easiest day out going, it was absurd how much ground he he was covering and linking up against Man City, it's when he looks at his best, let him do that and roam around in those areas with a bit of extra cover in there.
  19. I know it is in jest, but the reality is we were never going to “really” be able to spend hundreds of millions in what would have been a short time, we would have been verging on buggered when it came to Europe if we had, there is only so much we could have spent/so many players we could have logically signed. The club have literally said this numerous times, it was always going to be an organic growth, even City had to go through that, you aren’t going to just go from 18th to 1st in a year. The idea for instance we were adding Mbappe, Vinicius and Vitinha in one window as seemed to be feared was never reality. It feels like there are 100 other ways the EPL could have managed this rather than what seems to have been a “don’t let them spend money” stance Even if unlimited funds are unlocked for us as a consequence of this, which I doubt, as they will alter wording, we would still have somewhat restricted spend to a certain extent even purely from a naturally building a team angle let alone the actual allowing of funds to be spent. The league acted in fear on this to me rather than with sense
  20. The biggest problem with Aquilani seems to have been fitness, Rafa basically said he was flogged when he arrived at Anfield on The Overlap
  21. I can't really understand the want to so quickly enforce regulations on us given our growth was going to take time and be organic and met with restrictions when it came to Europe anyway, you'd have thought you'd enforce something you were going to get right.
  22. If we are kicking about the CL which is the plan it makes sense to keep Longstaff about given the HG measures, having to find players who are of a decent quality who will meet that will cost a fortune at a time when we could be looking at a lot of other markets. A squad does need a few players like Burn and Longstaff who are easy to maintain and keep a bit of identity about a group. A player coming on late in a game when others look tired and doing work that takes advantage of that isn't a negative.
  23. Would have thought more could be done upon entry to validate membership and ticket being used together, align membership with the ticket on the app on the phone so they are being "scanned" together.
  24. I apply for two, myself and my son. We are only ever successful in the family section.
  25. I would highly doubt he will get much slower before he actually retires, if he gets much slower he will be down to walking football, it's not really a massive concern if his pace goes he doesn't really have any as it is, he has other talents than pace, he is also 32 rather than 42 as seems to be being implied What he offers in terms of keeping new players linked to the club is probably an intangible that gets massively overlooked, a squad needs to have a bit of personality to it.
