*ANY CLUB OFFER ANYTHING FOR ANY NEWCASTLE PLAYER*

N.O response: Take him! lets get rid while we can!, etc!

Do we ever want to keep anyone? I have a feeling even if we tried to sell Shay Given there would be a core wanting to "cash in while we still can" or sometihng.

We're thin on the ground for midfielders, get rid of Smith (from midfield) or Butt ahead of Emre anytime if you ask me.

Butt and Barton out long time before Emre.

cant understand why some many of you are against Emre,we all now what he can do with a ball, bur then he have to PLAY more then 15 min in a few matches.

Keep Emre he is at least creative, cant say that of the rest of the midfielders.

Something is wrong with Sam!!!! Zog on the left back and Butt always playing no matter how many stupid fauls and passes he make

Laughable myth that he's a creative player.

He is. He showed it for Turkey (and Inter) several times. It is SA who's not able to get the best out of him (or the system he plays). He's not a pure playmaker, but he would be more creative in any other team under another manager, i'd say.

Have you forgot this?: how Emre turned the Everton game with his pure skill.

Lets not put that one onto Allardyce alone - Souness and Roeder have also failed to get the best out Emre.

Was he not supposed to be known as the 'Turkish David Beckham'???

Perhaps he deserves more chances than he's had under Allardyce (so far), but two previous managers have also failed to get consistent performances from the 'lil turk!

Left-footed, static central midfielder. Other than that, just like Beckham.

 Sure I've seen him referred to as that for Turkey.

Think its more to do with the fact that he was one of their main attacking midefielders, and took/scored quite a few free-kicks.

EDIT: Scrub that - just found where I'd read it....   :cheesy:

Graeme Souness commented:

"It's not surprising that Emre is known as Istanbul's David Beckham because I know he the biggest star in Turkish football. He can't walk down any street in Turkey without getting mobbed. He is the equivalent of what David Beckham is here.

:frantic:

I've never rated Emre since he was at inter, and I argued relentlessly on here the month that we signed him that he simply wasn't (and isn't) the type of midfielder that we need. And to this day I stand by those comments.

But I'm not saying that to boast. I'm saying that because it sums up our current circumstances perfectly when I say that I would rather almost every other central midfielder in our squad leave before him.

About sums it up.

I've used the word "myth" to describe Emre on a number of occasions.  His reputation among some fans is laughable considering what he's achieved here under 3 different managers, while seemingly every other midfielder has been slated with many driven out of the club.

I noticed in the appearances he's made usually in the last 15-20 mins his body language says it all looks very unhappy tbh. I wouldn't blame him if he decides to leave. Sam just has no clue the talent he's wasting, its obvious he prefers his own signings. I really thought he'd do something here but maybe the "style of play" doesn't suit him.

I have noticed when he plays a full 90 mins he is generally s***.

good one how many times has he even made a 90 min appearance...

he's done more than most of the central midfielders comming off the bench, but hey he's suppose to do it week in week out score winners, assists etc.

I've posted this before and I'll repeat it again, I think many of you don't watch him when he plays for Turkey. Turkeys style of play is simply keeping the ball on the deck, short passing, keeping pocession, thats when he becomes useful its not that they play to his stlye, its simply the way he plays and that's why Souness, Roeder and Big Sam have failed, they all have similarities in the way they prefer to play the ball. This is where a good European manager is needed, with a technical style of play, not f****** hoofing it up and hope for the best.  As this is not going to happen Emre has to sit deep and collect off the back line to start play, otherwise you know its gonna go straight over his head. He's no sitting deep out of choice or that's his role, I believe that's a Defensive midfielders role to be doing so, then Emre can push further up the pitch, where he is needed...

If you were keen to sell, I wouldn't be selling before a major tournament anyway, if he performs really well with Turkey in euro08 you might get lots of intrest for him. I'd loan him out, preferably to Galatasaray ofcourse. :)

I know Emre is in Germany at the moment seeing a specialist (again). Perhaps it's a ruse to work on a transfer? Just me putting 2x2 together....

Emre5 - I was watching TV yesterday and there was an advert for Hurriyet. On the page they used, there was a headline like 'Transfer bombshell' and Emre was mentioned. I noticed that the date was for 30 December but it was only up a couple of seconds so I didn't have chance to make sense of it. Did you read it on 30 December? Was that relating to Monaco or something else? Unfortunately I don't read Hurriyet every day.

Didn't say it was only under SA. Same thing with Souness and Roeder. Thats the saddest fact, because people thought SA should be a better manager... :-(

He's benefit by becoming a good player in the eyes of many by not playing while the team's been struggling imo.

Absolutely, similar thing happens with Harper imo too.

???

People think he's better than he is when he doesn't play. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that.
