Guest HyDrO
Just came to mind, I haven't seen anything that states that they can't as long as they have the money? For example Beckham multi millions buying L.A Galaxy. Interesting...

Guest Insomniark
begs the question how many footballers would want to tie themselves down to the club they buy....

Dr Spectrum
Can Mike Ashley register himself as a player? Doncaster's chairman once played for them I think. They got promoted and he fancied a laugh at the end of the season.

wacko
Bit of a conflict of interests, though. Imagine being the manager at a club owned by one of the players, especially if he's not a very good player. A mate of mine plays Sunday league. There's one team of 10 pretty good guys and one really old, really rich dude. Whatever happens, the old dude gets to score in every game and then he buys both sides drinks all night. Guest pistonism
Well at least the player will earn a solid place in the firt team line-up. If the manager chooses him to sit at the bench, next thing he'll know is that his office been dumped.
