Guest dover
It's a shame Barton can't play football with his tongue because we see a lot more action from his gob than we do on the pitch. Starting to really piss me off tbh, everyone including joey barton keeps saying hes a fantastic footballer despite his problems. Not seen any evidence of it yet. 1 England cap and did nothing special at Man city. Done nothing but disrupt and cause trouble at Newcastle, Lee Bowyer was better value. Stop talking s**** in the press and put the ball in the back of the net 10 times this season and I might be willing to listen to your drivel. Edit - just checked wiki, 19 career goals to date. Pathetic for him to be thinking hes a special player in all honesty
David28
Found a quite interesting interview about him. I really hope he gets back and will be playing some good football again. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1219322/JOEY-BARTON-INTERVIEW-Hes-battling-rage-drives-violence-Newcastle-star-fears-explode-again.html?ITO=1490
Guest Geordiesned
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/10/31/joey-barton-in-line-for-early-return-72703-25058760/ Joey Barton in line for early return Oct 31 2009 by Lee Ryder, Evening Chronicle JOEY BARTON has set his sights on a January comeback after returning to United's Benton HQ this week. The controversial midfielder saw his season grind to a halt after undergoing a foot operation earlier this month – but he has now had the cast removed. Barton has exploratory surgery on the problem that had been nagging him since the season kicked off in August. And although manager Chris Hughton originally felt that Barton could miss up to four months of the season, the Chronicle understands that the Scouser is aiming to make a return at some stage in January. Barton was spotted at the club’s training ground ahead of his intensive rehab programme this week and looked in good spirits. His return comes after Hughton granted him some time off last week, and the Merseysider was present at Newbury to watch his horse Electric Feel as it romped home in first place. A United insider told the Chronicle: “Joey has been back this week and was all smiles after a short break. “He’s back in rehab now and has also had the cast removed from his foot. “Things are looking up for him on the injury front, and he is hoping that he can make a return in January some time. “He really wants to play some part in Newcastle’s promotion challenge and that is the goal he has set. “He hopes he can put the nightmare of the last few years behind him and start afresh in 2010.” Deja' vu anyone??? ChezGiven
The injury he was carrying certainly explains his form this season. Doubt we'll manage to sell him or anyone would want him so lets hope he does recover from this and plays to his potential, otherwise its just more wasted money. 'He could be out up to four months, but the Ronnie understands he may feature in January'. Let me see....October, November, December (that's three - stay with me folks, it's difficult maths)...January. Yes, that is indeed four months. 'Up to four months out'. Jeeez, these cretins get paid for that.
