Danny Simpson (now retired)

Recommended Posts

Aye, Fergie played well when he came on

Horrible defending by Simpson on the goal like, stick a foot in ffs, the ball was easily there to be won. Sick of him just getting the ball, taking a touch and lumping it up the field. Everytime Fergie and Santon got on the ball they brought it down and either ran down the wing or played a short pass.

Very limited player, yes. But he deliberately missed the ball AND the Brighton player, because of the yellow card that he [wrongfully] received earlier. It could be a sending off.

In hindsight, he should have fouled the f***ker...

Aye, sick to death of him now. He's a complete non-entity. I had hopes that he might develop into a decent full-back, because he was young and showed promise in his first two seasons. But it's turned out that we just got what we paid for; a nothing right-back.

Shame the Cissokho thing never materialised.

Like he was the only poor player on the pitch

He's fucking rubbish and has been since the day we signed him.

Rubbish

Anyone who thinks otherwise is deluded. As I've said numerous times, you'd struggle to find a poorer full back in the Championship let alone the PL.

John Barnes making a very good point about him on ESPN

Whats he saying?

He pulled out of the challenge in the buildup to the goal because he was already on a yellow card. A yellow card that he didn't even deserve.

He deserved it because he gave the ball away in the first place. He gave the ball away because he can't control it. It was all of his own making.

 Regardless, he won the ball. Therefore it wasn't a yellow card.

You don't get booked for giving the ball away, he shouldn't have been booked.

i got to be honest, as a defender he's actually not bad ,  that is when it comes to purely defending.  positioning heading marking tackling, he's does well,

where he fall short is his distribution of the ball.  it always smashing it long.  he thinks he can put the ball on a six pence no matter where he is on the pitch,  that has never happened danny boy

son you are not david beckham

He didn't help himself with the way he launched himself into the challenge.

Absolutely shite today and has been for quite some time.

He annoys more far more than Obertan does.

The sooner we bring in a quality LB and shift Santon to RB the better it is for the team.

Obertan's shite performances weren't helped by having no support from Simpson on the right wing.  Worst crosser of a football I've seen.
