Luuk de Jong signs for PSV

You could apply that to nearly every game he's been involved in the last few years. Yet Pardew still plays him. He loves the guy.

Have we had a manager who never loved him? He must be Drogba like in training.

Keegan didn't seem to rate him at all.

Aye he was one, Keegan was unfortunate Shola failed a medical elsewhere. He wasn't getting rid of Shola that easily. Good effort though.

Stoke could have been complaining about him instead of us if he hadn't failed his medical.

It was Ipswich where he failed his medical.  He was on loan at Stoke and they couldn't wait to hand him back.

Was just about to say I like the cut of Luuk's jib and then...

I still have a good feeling about this guy.

Think Remy and Gouffran will make a big difference to his game.

Let's see.

Nah, no way...nah.

I've bet on him to score twice for whatever reason. Spare £ in my betting account & 'Place Bet' was closer than the drain....

He was alright tonight. Nowt special. Never looked like scoring a goal. Maybe next time.

He was better than Shola. At this point in time, that's comfort to me.

Looks honestly decent IMO but he will never be able to make an impact in this abortion of a team with an abortion of a manager.

Will more than likely notch 1-2 goals before the end of the season and we'll send him packing.

Remy, Ben Arfa and Gouffran playing off of this guy would be great.

Guarantee we'll never get to see it though, because Alan Pardew is incapable of just letting footballers play.

I like him.

He's never going to burst the line and score a wonder goal, but I think he's by far the most intelligent forward at the club. I think he's learning he won't have a great deal of time on the ball, so it's important to be reactionary. Helped construct some nice little moves and seems very good in the air. Alongside Remy I think you could forge a very low rent version of Henry and Bergkamp.

Just in time for Remy to FO to a decent club?

Not a great team to be joining if you're a goal shy striker short on confidence. Feel for the lad.

This - it was clear to me from the recorded Foxtel coverage that the majority of players have  either given up because they know the club is satisfied wit just staying in the PL or that they are not playing for Pardew....either way, its a terrible situation for a loan striker to be dropped in to because

he will get very little support.

If and when he leaves , he will take away some bad tales about NUFC unless things change pretty quickly and not many of us can see THAT happening.
