To be frank both announced they were going to sue each other regarding the loyalty monies as soon as the deal happened. It's just come to fruition this week. The only way you could have avoided it slightly is accepted Neymar was going ahead of time and bought in replacements before you got the 200m, but that would take some forward thinking which seems to be lacking atm. It's probably the best position for position replacement tbf, the only alternatives is going for a more sure thing but ultimately will prove not good enough in a couple of years.
