How few players can you come up with to encompass first team appearances for all 20 current Premier League clubs? I've got 5 players who between them have played for all 20 clubs - 5 is actually quite easy but is it possible to get it down to 4?

Good one. I take it that they don't have to be currently playing in the league/still playing?

There are a few obvious players that come to mind straight away.

Yep loans included, go on...

Our 4 in 19 are Crouch, Cottee, Sinclair and Andy Cole, missing out only Hull.

Switch Cottee for Barmby and you can do it missing out only on West Ham.

Crouch and Cole fill 12 clubs between them with no overlap, so they're the best starting point that I've found.

Definitely, I think Barmby has to be in there for the fact that noone has played for Hull. Despite that he still seems like a weak link.

Routledge covers 6

Routledge was one of my originals, but Scott Sinclair covers teams that haven't already been covered by Crouch and Cole.
