HaydnNUFC
Was at the game last night, in my season ticket seat with a couple of mates. Hate cup games in terms of the crowd like, full of very young kids who don't know who's who and spend almost the whole game on their phones (one was playing on that Pokemon Go shite. Ffs) But mainly it's the mongs that think that being a cunt at games is funny, causing bother, like to goad away fans etc etc. Got some pictures of the bother in the Leazes End. http://i.imgur.com/UDnzHnt.jpg Notice there's two large groups of our lot, one closest to the wall and the line of stewards separating the two sets of fans and another close the exit in the more centre than left side of the image. I also caught the bother on Northumberland Street, same sort of tracksuit wearing mongs, banging on the shutters along the street and there was a large group of kids aged from around 12-19 jumping around and on people's shoulders chanting and throwing stuff around in the McDonald's there. Wallace
I normally sit in the Gallowgate but now sit in the Milburn for Cup games because I got fed up with the large group of kids that turned up for those games being such a pain as described above. Wallace
I know it is a lovely idea to use lower prices to attract a decent crowd to support the team in cup games but, behind me was a group of people, mixed age - possibly an extended family - and the first thing I heard them say as they arrived 5 mins after kick off was "which team are we?" Controversial (and not much of a step away from giving out free tickets to schools / university in line with out mackem neighbours) but, why does the club not directly offer group tickets at very low cost to local grass roots football teams. Me and the coach of my sons team brought a load of our lads along to the match, they loved it. We booked early and were able to get a load of seats together. If Newcastle United made an offer really early to the local grass roots teams the ground would be full of kids that are actually interested in football and potentially the fans of the future.... Why don't you contact the club and suggest it to them. Alternatively, it could be raised at the next Fan's Forum. After all the club seems to be trying to improve their PR and their relationship with fans and may be more receptive to such ideas than before.
