Completely agree, their transfer dealings don’t make any sense at all, they’ve overpaid for a lot of their players and gone for positions they didn’t even need to prioritise. Scotty66
It is absurd. I don't think I've found a simple explanation as to why and regardless, it's obviously a massive loophole. Also can't see why a big deal isn't being made of this from the media as they are spending like absolute crazy. Imagine it was us, there would be BBC panorama investigations etc within days Edited January 1, 2023 by Scotty66

Kimbo
I really don’t mind Chelsea’s spending, I see it as a gamble that could easily end with them fading into midtable obscurity in a few years.

Geordie Ahmed
This was from March last year (taken from Swiss Ramble on twitter), not too sure what it means and how much scope they have Buy they spent big in the summer and are seemingly set to spend big again
Interpolic
It annoys the fuck out of me like. Chelsea started all of this crazy spending when the Russian came in, largely kept at it, made a mockery of the loan system, got bailed out (again) and now they're hoovering up players we might want at way above the going rate. Not once have they had to face the consequences of their spending, other than the transfer ban when they already had a world class squad sitting there. Amazing to think that back in the day, if you were lucky enough to be a footballer, you were married to Carol or Audrey, lived in a detached, drank lager and lime and made 600 quid a week. Nowadays, if you're good enough for long enough you can legit become a billionaire.

Tsunami
Back in the day Joe Harvey used to visit my mother’s best friend’s house in the west end of Newcastle and he’d arrive on his bike, trousers kept away from the chain with his trouser clips. GeordieDazzler
I hate Chelsea for taking players I really like and making me dislike them intensely. Would be great if they missed the CL. Here’s hoping.

Well there's your multi billionaires who have reached the monetary level where they can afford space rockets for toys but you can always "spend". In some ways greed v benevolence is in the eye of the beholder. I simply can't imagine getting paid £200k a week like ?

Not that I necessarily agree with the core concept of greed and luxury, but Drake (of all people) put it in words that I'll now butcher by paraphrasing: "When you don't have a million dollars, you dream of being able to buy what people that have a million dollars can buy. When you get a million dollars, you dream of being able to buy what people that have ten million dollars can buy. When you get ten million dollars, you dream of being able to buy what people that have a hundred million dollars can buy. There will always be something too expensive for you and you will always want to earn enough money to be able to get it. When you have a lot of money, you buy more expensive things, so you burn through it almost at the same rate as you did when you didn't have that amount of money - because the stuff you now want to buy, and can buy, are expensive." A depressing indictment of our species. If Drake is to be believed, we’re not much more than a Fox that goes mental in a Chicken coop, killing 10 when it can only eat 1. Fortunately Drake is a dipshit.
