Newcastle United 0 - 4 Manchester City (19/12/2021)

Thought we played well for good portions of the game.  But ultimately, we have gifted yet another goal to the opposition because of shit, individual errors.

We're plenty shit enough as it is and will usually lose to teams like this (well, most the league this season), without basically having a -1 or -2 handicap every game.  Due to us letting the other team have a goal or two for free.

On the penalty, whatever there is in the letter of the law, I wasn't surprised when it wasn't given. Fraser never had possession of the ball, and wouldn't have got it even if the keeper hadn't clattered him.

A lot of decisions are based on convention rather than a literal interpretation of the law, and pens just don't get given in that situation. Rightly or wrongly.

Does it not rule out ever getting a penalty for pushing someone over at a corner? Didn't have the ball guv.
