Dyer plays better as a second striker than he does in midfield.

I'm sorry but I completely disagree, not that he is brilliant in midfield, but his performances in recent games as a striker have proven that he isn't a natural or even good striker - he doesn't have the natural positional instincts of a striker nor the finishing of a striker.  He would be ideal as a player behind the front two but I worry when people think of Dyer as a striker.

Once Owen comes i'd like our formation to be:

                                          Dyer (ss)

                              Owen                    Martins

(ss) = Second striker

What music would you like to accompany this?

Maybe so, but if Shola had played the whole season I'd have tipped him to bag 15-20 easily. (didn't he already have 7 by October?) I'm not confident Chopra would do at this level.

If Shola ever scores 20 goals in a Premiership season, just let me know, please. That 'won't happen, ever.

But, problem with Ameobi is not solely in his ability or disability to score. Problem is that when you're playing with him in the team it looks like you have one player less on the pitch. His control of the ball is awful, and so is his ability to pass and colaborate with the other striker and midfielders.

I thought we were talking about Shola here, not Martins...

I thought it's pretty obvious Martins can exchange passes, even when paired with less than top of the class striker like Sibierski.

But then, some people prefer hockey to football...

I'm guessing that he sees himself as being slightly above playing for the Indian national team.

Maybe he'd be worried that after one bad result,  if you let a hanful of indians into your room they might throttle you.
