ANTOINE Sibierski underwent an operation on his broken arm on Tuesday as manager Glenn Roeder confirmed that the striker will miss the rest of the season.

The 32-year-old was injured during the 1-0 defeat at Reading on Monday, clutching his arm as he left the field in obvious discomfort following a second-half challenge.

And United boss Roeder has confirmed to nufc.co.uk that the former Man City man will sit out of the remaining two games of the campaign.

Glenn said: "Antoine has undergone an operation on his broken arm and will definitely miss the rest of the season.

"It's a shame because he has been fantastic for us this year.

"Luckily we have Shola and Michael back now, but our luck with injuries has been awful all season."

Sibierski this season

38 games played=8 goals

24 starts =6 goals=4games per goal

12subs=2goals

Fantastic player for us who scored a goal in every 4 games he played

Roeder you stupid cunt

No point in turning up on Saturday then, we've got an injury.

"No excuses, and I know we've got Owen & Ameobi, but Sibierski was missing and he's been a massive player for us". - Roeder, 5.15pm Saturday after a 2-0 home defeat to Blackburn.

I may be a bit behind the times here, but has it been confirmed that Sib is staying for another season? I've heard he will be, but not seen anything official.
