Will we ever get to enjoy a summer where we dont have to suffer the rigmarole that is "Stevie Gerrards contract wranglings". The only comfort is that he's actually signed it early this season. Why does the greedy get feel he's due a new and improved contract every year, especially after whats been a fairly so-so season by him in terms of individual performances. Nowhere near the level he was in 2005/6.

It's about all ego stuff now, they don't want to be lower paid than the likes of Shev' and Ballack.

Same with Lampard and Terry, how they can expect to be the highest paid footballers in the world is beyond me.

The cricket, Wimbledon & Stevie Gee's contract/transfer saga are what summer sport is about.

They should have got shot of him to Chelsea when they had the chance, look how Lampard and Gerrard play for England, hardly world beaters are they?!

Alonso is a better player for Liverpool, IMO. He might not have the drive of Gerrard but he certainly has a better passing ability and is just as good a tackler as him. Sissoko and Alonso would be better in the middle than Gerrard and Sissoko/Alonso.

strong possiblility that atleast one of them 2 will be leaving. Basically this new rule is why they had to resign, also the fact that now you have to put them on a shorter contrcat, because if they sign a five year one it carnt be renogated until 3 years has passed, leaving the danger of there contrcats running down.
