abcdefg
It should be renamed The Uneducated Knee-jerking Twatfarm.
Nobby
That's not the point, James is a name, it is singular but happens to end in an s. I'm annoyed by how much this annoys me now. Anyway, the club are incorrect in usage, but at one time used the apostrophe correctly, now I need a lie down (as I'm hungover) There is more than one St. James It is their park therefore it is St. James' Park Nonsense and you know it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_James The fact there's been several men called James who have been canonised is irrelevant, The NUFC stadium does not refer to several people, as is shown by the fact that it used to be written as St James's Park. how do you know it wasn't wrong in the first place? Syrette
only an idiot needs a scoreboard i agree, no need for them Absolutely, I suppose it helps a bit when they've got the time on them though, but no-one needs them. If they're expanding the ground anyway though, might as well find a place for one.

Yorkie
I'd rather they kept the traditional authenticity, and not bothered with a scoreboard n'all. More Americanisation that ultimately fucks up the game.
abcdefg
There used to be a scoreboard, though I forget when. Frankly if you're too pissed to remember the score then it probably doesn't matter. They could stick up the scorer, it's not always clear from the opposite end, and the PA is useless.

abcdefg
Mike's sporting goods arena I like it, as ridiculous as this thread is (it made me think of Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse in the pub, getting righteously indignant about imagined sleights from celebrities). Oi Ashley! I may appreciate your business skills and dignified silence during the takeover of NUFC, but if you come here, trying to call our ground the......oh you get the idea. Guest
Just to put this one to bed...from a Grammar website. http://bellevuecollege.edu/writinglab/Apostrophe.html James has a Walkman becomes James' Walkman (The apostrophe follows James.) This can also be written as James's to match pronunciation. So both are correct.

abcdefg
Of course dialect is important, it's what makes language so rich, I doubt any of us could understand 16th century English, even 19th C would sound odd.
