madras
We need (as Sam himself has said) two good players for every position. This means that defensively (including the goalkeeping position) we should have 10 good first-team quality (ideally 'better' than other teams have) players available, to cover injuries and suspensions. The situation. at present, is (in my opinion) as I wrote on another thread some time ago: GOALKEEPER - 2 (Given/Harper, so NONE needed) CENTRE BACK (A) - 1 (Taylor, so ONE needed) CENTRE BACK (B) - 1 (Rozenhal, so ONE needed) RIGHT BACK - 1 (Geremi, so ONE needed) LEFT BACK - 0 (so TWO needed) So - we still need to acquire a total of FIVE new, top quality, defenders (in my view). i think he'd be happy with getting in one top quality centre half and i personally don't think he's planning on using geremi as a full back(bet that comes back to bite me on the arse), so 2 left backs,1 right back and a centre half for me. geremi and solano cover for right back if necessary. Mr Logic
I'm hoping he's not planning on using Geremi as a RB also, far more effective player in midfield.

You need attacking and creative wing-backs when you're using 4-5-1 anyway. Which is why Geremi would be a much better option than Solano, atleast. Geremi will work, i reckon. As much as i love Nobby, effective long balls can only be so effective.
