Jol on the brink? Breaking news:Ramos snubs huge Spurs offer.

Parky

That said, Chelsea have done ok over the last 3 seasons Parky.

They haven't spent a penny have they?

They've spent money and had the most successful 3 years in their history. Your point being?

It's Kenyon's point that matters.

Yeah, but what was your point? Or did you not have one?

Schevchenko was wanted by Abramovich as he was a close friend, nothing to do with Arnesen. Whats the problem supposed to be with Alex?

Alex was an Arnensen buy totally and unwanted by Mourinho.

As Baggio said this "planning" has got them European places for the last couple of seasons, bit of a kneejerk based upon media speculation....?

Hardly kneejerk and hardly planning, they've just spent massively, more than Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal in the last 3 years and they've somehow managed to go backwards. With the money spent they should be in the champions league places and have a better spine to the team than Robinson, Dawson, Jenas.

So he it was to do with him, what has that got to do with Arnesen? He's not even Chelsea's DOF, Zahini is an independent agent so again you're barking up the wrong tree yet again. You didn't say what the problem was with Alex btw.

Pini Zhavi is a close friend of Roman who has also suggested and done the deal for the new Israeli coach to come to Chelsea. PZ has a villa on the Cote de Azur half a km from Romans place and spends time on Roman's yacht Pelorus every time it visits Monaco. They are close friends. You my dear aren't even 'barking' more like a whimper.

Kenyon's thinly veiled critique of Mourinho.

I was suggesting Chelsea wasn't a very good example to bring up of a club having a DoF and it not working in the Premier League though. They aren't and neither are Spurs. Going purely off the relative recent records of the clubs. Which is all that really matters. The rest is largely conjecture about wranglings behind the scenes.

So who are we blaming for the Spurs left side?

So, that was the point you were making when you brought up Kenyon? Spurs' left side. Not even worth replying to that one Parky. Nice try, see if you can hook someone else.

That is Arnesen's job in finding unknown talent, he did find Ronaldo and RVN for PSV so the man has an eye for talent, looks like he's found another in Alex.

Every man and his dog has know about Alex for 3/4 years now. It's hardly what I call 'a find'.

I though YOU were talking about Spurs AND Chelsea?

Let's put it another way ManU might have won the league last year cause Mourinho didn't get the players HE wanted.

Would still be Roman buying the player, not Zhavi.

So Zahavi (agent) got his head together with Roman (owner) to buy Shevchenko for Chelsea, what has that got to do with Arnesen?

Open your eyes the thread is about descision making reg players at football clubs ie DOF's etc...I'm saying when this process is done by comittee or 'others' ie NOT the manager...Problems arise that deflect the vision of good managers and even 'great' managers like Mourinho.

Planning is necessary in any business. That should be obvious to anyone. How it is done is a different matter. However, Newcastle fans are hardly in a position to be pointing fingers at how Chelsea and Tottenham operate at the moment.

He's been on loan at PSV from Chelsea for 2 seasons because he couldn't get a work permit, you do know that don't you?

Yes, I did. Surprised that you knew that. Claiming that you'd  never heard of the guy.  My understanding is that Chelsea has some kind of buy out clause that they could choose to exercise or not.
