"we would stroll to promotion"
hmmm - we've had to put together long runs without a loss - I don't think its been that easy TBH
-
everyone was banging on about how we needed to build up the squad but we had the biggest squad in the Cl by a long way IIRC
-
getting there..........
-
the record holders going up are clubs like the Rabble and Reading - performance in the CL is no guide at all to the next year in the PL.............
-
Dreampt last night we didn't go up. Was absolutely horrible, felt worse than relegation.
Please don't f*** it up, lads.
that's not a dream - it's a nightmare
can you imagine what the meeja would do to us.........for years and years and years.................
-
92 points is now the cutoff for automatic promotion - or 91 with our current GD
-
I think we'd all have settled for mid table mediocrity after the events of the previous season TBH
We really looked like a club in total freefall in August 2009
-
Guaranteed top half finish now...............
-
Reading are the other form side in the League at the moment - I think we'll get a draw there
interestingly we're almost out of the "playoff" range of point and into the historic automatic promotion range
What is worth pointing out is that we still need 4- 5 wins to be sure - this IS a tough division to get out of
-
I reckon we will be promoted on April 10th.
my wedding day as well!
Sky'll move it.......
-
Not a MASSIVE LOSS - a pity but he'd become lass and less influential in open play
you could never fault his workrate but he was becoming an expensive specialty kicker and for the World Cup you need fit players who can adapt to different positions
And not having the Chief Wag there, trying to revive her career, will help as well
-
they're wrong - it's only the bottom three that can't catch us
we have 72 points
Palace P34 - pts 37 - Max 73
wednesday 35 - 37 - 70
plymouth 34 - 30 - 66
posh 35-27-60
God knows how NUFC.com put their table together
Have you made sure they dont play each other
Haven't - bad enough keeping up with our games never mind the rest of them..................
But we're firmly in the play-off zone and we can't be relegated and I'd guess a lot of us would have settled for that at eh start of the season TBH
-
Lets just hope he nivvor turns up at SJP.........

Coach from train station to the ground should be unaffected but you never know.
runs up the same road to Junction 11 I think - don't hang around the station for too long........................
A mate that works near there says they're putting in a new station near the ground in the next year ......
-
I agree - Hughton definately deserves more praise than what he gets.
Whilst alot of us would agree he shouldn't be given the role were we to get promoted, I think it's about time we began vocally backing him because
a) He deserves it and
b) What better way to start a tough Premiership campaign, than by being United on as many fronts as possible and fighting his corner for him.
One team, one club, one United.
sorry, but if he thinks that a majority of the team is good enough in the premiership over the summer, he'll deserve the sack
What the f*** else is he supposed to say? "If we go up we'll have to ship out half the team because they're championship standard cloggers. We'll be looking to bring in some genuine permier league quality players if/when we go up because we know the likes of Best, Nolan, Butt, Smith and Ameobi won't be able to hack the pace."
I imagine that'd do wonders for moral and team spirit.
that's what Fat Fred would have said... and quite a few of our previous managers......
-
hmmm -sit at Chelski, in London, on a monster pay packet with a club that wins things or join NUFC - no contest
-
The HMRC challenge to the administration is interesting, won't make the government popular in portsmouth.
it might amongst tax payers - but there are few of those in Portsmouth I guess

You'd have thought tehy'd sell teh rights to Sky with the action at Portsmouth and a Vast League table and them hauling down the number of points to date and replacing it with 9 less
they could have DIVINA McCALL yelling the commentary 'n aall
-
hopefully not keegan!
Chris H. will be given the change to keep us up....which is the right thing to do, even though i dont really like it! he is not good enough imo
how do we know he's not good enough? I'd raterh take a punt on him continuing to develop than buy in some mercenary costing millions who will turn teh palce over again.............
-
I really can't see what else Hughton could have done better this season TBH - he took a club in freefall on and off the pitch and with some of the main names gone and fashioned them into a winning side with none of the roller coaster performances of the past
Maybe we are a poor PL side int eh Championship but I think we'll be better than about 7 teams in the PL next season
-
if only to save the pay-off.............
and he might surprise everyone - even Mad Sir Alex started out somewhere
Brilliant, Hughton in the same breath as Ferguson! I've heard it all now!
Ferguson was one game away from the sack in his first season at Man U..................
-
I was in a bar in Norway when the Man Utd vs Arsenal match was on, and there was a big group of Manchester fans singing a version of Blaydon Races with different lyrics.
quite a few clubs do - luckily it sounds totally idiotic.............
We can't be caught. CHAMPIONS.

I just hope you are right
knowing the standard script at the St. James Opera House we will find some way of blowing it.................
