what is needed is a decent way of compensating the clubs that develop these kids before they are 16
right now they are free agents the moment they reach 16 - and if they sign for ManU then their old club can get nowt
-
I can't remeber a time when we had such poor keepers - we'll be the same as the Scots if it gets much worse
-
This trouble has been brewing for ages
After going to Palace I stayed over Sunday as a mate had got me a ticket for Fulham v CHelski - on the way back to his place we were accosted by a totally p****** West Ham supporter aggrieved at their tanking by Spurs and promising "a real load of action" against "them c****" at Millwall"
He was part of a group and they can't have been a year under 50 years old - this one runs very deep - like Rangers -Celtic or us against the Unwashed
-
aye and did you see Milner last week - at International level..............
-
Would be a terrific acquisition imo.
agreed
-
Always thought he was a Championship player - tries hard, lot of presence but not the first touch required in the PL
-
they can't score - we can't score ................
could be a desperate match.............
-
If you aren't likely to go you don't need to reply, but IF you are planning to go would that be an ok price to pay?
7am out
7pm rtn.
(approx times - coach transfers included)
A fair price. I'm paying £158.96 with FlyBe to fly Newcastle to Gatwick for the Crystal Palace game.
Why did you not get the train
long time on the train.........................
-
around 54 55 04.35N 001 28 03.11W
nasty little runway but great for car hire........................
-
I'd suspect that hidden debts might well have involved Mr Shepherd and friends
There were odd things like the Club renting Shepherd Offshore warehouses IIRC - and who DID pay for aal them business jets?
I'd guess £ 75mm cash up front and maybe another £ 30mm if we get back up in 24 months..................
-
we lost out in 1966 and the games were played at Joker Park and Tiresome Stadium remember
Never underestimate our ability to shoot ourselves in the foot on big occasions..........
-
Is it happening or are we just too depresssed
-

The trouble was he could only run in straight lines - I can remember once standing on the open east side and he got the ball over by the Directors box - but he was pointing ACROSS the field not DOWN it
He accelerated to Warp Factor 9 but he was heading straight for us, he couldn't pass or stop so eventually he shot straight into the crowd at the last moment - all of who had their fist out in front of their face the moment they saw him coming so only half a dozen were laid out
-
aye but with world class service he can probably still get enough goals so they can play him against the dross in the PL and the early Cup games and spread the load on their main team
-
the extra is clearly bloody Plymouth and two trips to S wales................. both of which I'd pass on if I were you
NUFC v. Swansea used to be fight of the year in 70's (went back to a game there in which only 17 players finished the game - pre-subs) and Cardiff think they are really tough 'n aalll
-
"A"level geography that man
-
pretty dodgy IMHO
-
any idea when the fixture list is out?
-
It's as grim a prospect as I can remember in my 50 years supporting them
-
The ground doesn't belong to the club - in the 60's they were only getting new leases for very short periods as the Council and the Club loathed each other - that's why there were no 1966 World Cup games at SJP as there was no security of tenure and the club refused to invets anything on a short lease.
When Sir John came along they negotiated a much longer lease ?99 years? or longer
The ground is also confined due to the Listed terrace on the east side that belongs to the University
-
86 points from 46 games is doable - but we really HAVE to win all our home games to be in with a chance IMHO
and who the hell will score any goals??? Maybe Ameobi will prove us all right when we said he'd be a great star in the championship..............
-
I'm afraid the idea of loyalty went out when the money came in.................
-
86 points is less than an average of 2 points per game, we should certainly be aiming for this.
What I worry about regarding point accumulation is the big-game factor. Every time we play away next season it'll likely be the opposition team's biggest game of the season, players will sweat blood to make an impact against us and fans will go wild.
Which is why we need to get rid of the past-it mob who quite frankly dont stand a chance against young, hungry players breaking their bollocks to make an impact against us
I agree - every away game will be a bloody Cup Tie

dear oh dear oh dear
I take it you became a football supporter in August???
Anyone who has followed this lot for more than 10 minutes KNOWS we'll be 30 points clear at Xmas, then lose solidly so it all depends on a penalty at the end of the playoffs which Ameobi will scuff and slice out for a throw-in .............................................
