Things we can learn from the first half: Rozzy not only isn't a centre back, he's not a right back either. We're going to miss Faye. Enrique needs to play at left back. N'Zogbia needs to play on the left wing. Duff seems to have forgotten how to beat a fullback. Smith and Butt can't play together unless we want a midfield with zero creativity. We could do with signing a striker or two. Any others?

Bryan Roy used to have a fantastic first touch. Shame he was so poor at everything else. Got to be Bergkamp, no arguments there.

In all seriousness. I fail to see why people kick up such a fuss, and have it in for people who have ambition for the football club and are prepared to show it. [i'm talking about the board, in case you don't realise] However, Dire was a talented player. I was watching his early few years a few days ago on video, and a Birmingham supporter who I knew at the time we bought him assured me that he would play for England and be a good player, sprung to mind. Fact is though, he failed to fulfull it due to a s*** attitude, injury problems, and in the end, the club are better off without him because there was basically no way back for him. What would a Birmingham fan know about Dyer??

Villa favourites in race to recruit troubled Martins

£13m is double what he's worth. Sell him. It's a no brainer (much like the man himself ) -
Wenger was on SSN saying that they wouldn't be signing him. Expect him on loan in the next couple of days

Man Utd reject Newcastle bid for Wes Brown - SSN

He can talk to other clubs now about a Summer move can't he? Hmm, not sure whether it's now or at the end of January. I'm sure someone ITK will help out though -

I'd still like to know how he's in talks with Portsmouth when Sir Alex is saying that any bids have been rejected. ITK indeed. -
Man Utd are a good team enough to compensate for his flaws, and could get away with using him sparingly, whereas we'd be pinning all our hopes on him. First, where has this rumour came from? first Ive heard of it. Secondly, S.S.R is totally right, is a bit different Larsson stepping into the Manure team, to the Nufc team. As the old saying goes "my granny could score goals for Man U" - we are a totally different kettle of fish and Larsson would be no help. How many people on here have seen Larsson play this season? (I know theres a few Swedes on here) I have, and i don't think he's premiership quality any more. Bring back Shearer too!

Aren't Man Utd trying to get him back on loan again? Good enough for them, but not for us..... Gotta love some of our fans

Rather Brown at centre back and Taylor at right back tbh. Also rather have Cacapa at centre back rather than Rozehnal too. Taylor at right back? Taylor is woeful IMO. -

If he has a release clause and Chelsea decide to go for it then why not? Its about the only club i could see paying that much, but Manu would say no if they could, so unless a clause has been met or known about. Because one player couldn't generate £80m. There is no clause according to the stories - it's purely what Man United are saying they would sell him for.
-
Is this following the news that Man United have slapped a £70m price tag on his head then? Nobody will pay £80m for a player. Not even Chelsea or Real Madrid.

Started off at City didn't he? Or did I just imagine that...? He came through United's academy. So yes, you imagined it -
"s*** first touch Doesn't no how to use his pace Can't shoot Can't beat a man Passing is s*** No awareness" All those can be helped with training. I'll get my boots out then.

Let's ignore all the glaring deficiencies in his game too, eh? 23. Same age as Adebayor, Tevez and Torres then. All clubs with a far better training set up and manager than we have. Going to a "good" club doesn't automatically mean that players improve. Just look at Chelsea if you want examples. Martins has peaked IMO. Good enough if we want to stay at the level we're at currently, but not good enough to move us forward. Which of our players do you think are good enough if we want to move forward? Give, Beye, Faye, Enrique (I hope), N'Zogbia. That's about it I think. However, the thread's about Martins, which is why I'm talking about him.

No it doesn't, but the problems with Martins are things that can be made less of a hinderance with good training and a manager who can look at him and see what his exact problems are. We have neither of them imo. I'm amazed Inter Milan transfer listed him then.
