Just Hendrick and Shelvey for me. Hayden at CB has been useless, Darlow way too over for the FK (not that much beef but frustrating) Joe has been anonymous since coming on, Lewis p*ss poor first half Then tehres Jeff and Jon doing what Jeff and Jon do I can't blame Hayden for that, he shouldn't have to play there. Joelinton is what he is, got to accept that now. He's got zero chance of looking good out there this half now though.

Lovely ball in that. Darlow did well.

Just Hendrick and Shelvey for me.

It clearly is like.
-
Seemingly not

At least we're used to playing with 10 men even with Hendrick on the pitch. The bigger difference is the fact that Joelinton isn't anywhere near the quality of Wilson. Whatever happens I'm blaming Shelvey for this.

Generic muscle injury after a sprint Guess he might be missing a few matches then. That's a massive worry.
-
I've missed most of this game; what's happened to Wilson?
-
Darlow's back
-
Game changing injury that one, unfortunately.

I guess Manquillo's gonna be out a while looking at that?

Bruce did say that he could get a goal tbf

Maybe one day we'll get back to being able to debate which our best manager was, not out worst. Supporting this club is depressing. Like on a real level.

Where's the "year's salary" claim come from by the way? Is that something Keith has said he's given up already? Suspect it might be lost in translation. What I don't understand is why he's so vocal about this rather than letting everything play out in the background. Unless he wants all the fans to write another letter to their MPs there's very little need for him to even have twitter.

Sorry but I just don't get this post - in what world view is Steve Bruce's Newcastle not living up to every expectation that Ashley sets? Steve Bruce's job is the safest in the Premier League as long as Newcastle United are not in the bottom three. From Ashley's perspective, he's even better than Rafa. No illusions of ambition or growth, not a bad word said against the owners or the board or even mentioning their names. I've said it before, and will again - unless Newcastle United are in real danger of relegation, Steve Bruce is going absolutely nowhere. So there's the issue - Ashley doesn't understand "real danger" in that sentence. Newcastle United ARE in real danger of relegation. Everyone can/should see it.

Wait, he claims that his CV is brilliant? Sheffield United (resigned within a year) Huddersfield Town (sacked) Wigan Athletic (left after 2 months, losing in the playoffs) Crystal Palace (left after 3 months) Birmingham City (probably his best spell, poached by Wigan after a couple of promotions and a relegation. Resigned to take over at Wigan) Wigan Athletic (battled relegation for the majority of his time, resigned to take over at Sunderland) Sunderland (Sacked within 2 years) Hull City (Promotion in first season, cup final in second, relegated, promotion again, resigned after failing to get the England job) Aston Villa (Huge budget, lost in playoff final, sacked) Sheffield Wednesday (Stayed about 6 months, average) Newcastle United (fuck off) Not sure why the likes of Man United, Real Madrid, Inter Milan etc haven't approached him with a CV like that.

I mean Kirkland's a fucking prick, so is it worth watching? Will I want to punch the wanker through my screen?

You get your hair bleached and coloured? This is information I needed before!

Right boys, everyone sit on the carpet.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to drop your keeper to improve the team, much like you do with every other position on the pitch. You don't wait for your right back to make a mistake before replacing him with a better right back, you do it for the good of the team. Far too much emotion is placed in the "the shirt is yours to lose" shit for keepers. Get Dubravka back in asap.

The guy who does this site is usually spot on with outcome predictions: https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/soccer-predictions/premier-league/ Has us finishing 17th, which I think is likely.

Newcastle vs Southampton - 06/02/21 @ 15:00 (live on BT Sport)
Shearergol replied to Decky's topic in Football
Shelvey's goal last night means that he's not getting dropped. Perhaps we'll see Hayden dropping back in for Clark so that Hendrick can retain his place? Either way, we'll get completely outplayed and lose 2-0.
