Well, yeah. My friend has a small holding/farm so he is pretty much self sufficient in meat, fruit and vegetables. I would love to be able to live like that. Kill it, butcher it, cook it, eat it. It's good to know where you food comes from, rather than it just appearing in a packet on the shelf of a shop.

I'm camping in here over the summer, just thought i'd pop in and see how things are I was expecting pictures of nice stadiums and samba gifs, instead i had greg buzzing over the chance to slaughter a lamb Well, no I am buzzing over the thought of eating said lamb.

I'm going to be slaughtering and then cooking and eating a lamb in Porto Alegre! If you like lamb this is a must: http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,36191.20200.html Mint jelly with lamb man, it's gorgeous. Don't know how they do it in Porto Alegre but in Sao Paulo, Rio and Salvador they usually have mint jelly so you just have to ask for it when eating lamb in churrascaria. I'm staying with family friends in Porto Alegre, and they live in the city but also have a small holding / farm with animals etc about 100km drive away where they go for the weekend, which is where I will be slaughtering my own lamb. Yeah I read that post the other day, looks great! Mint and lamb is always good.

Been in Rio before Greg? For me hands down the most beautiful city in the world. When you stand at the Arpoador looking over the Ipanema and Leblon beach you see what Rio is really about. I've never been to Brasil. I only have 2 days in Rio! You're in for a treat in Rio then. Best beach hands down is Ipanema and Leblon. Skip Posto 9s northern parts (every don't know how many meters of the beach have a station (posto)) which is numbered. Think 9s northern parts is purely for men who like men so unless your into that kind of stuff be careful not to walk into the middle of that crowd as they're ruthless predators when it comes to good looking men It's better to take the street to Arpoador. Anyways no doubt you'll enjoy Brazil although Sao Paulo has nothing of worth to look at unless you want to shop expensive stuff or look at bunch of buildings. Haha what are the must see things in Rio then if I only have 2 and a half days? As for Sao Paulo, I am sure I will enjoy it, it is a mega city and I'm an urban planner.

I still can't wait like! Flying out on the a few days in.

Do you think it will kick off? No doubt about it, but will be handled by the police in the rightful manner for once. If they do it the pacific way sure, but they're talking about making blockades so players don't get to the arena and fans don't get in which quite frankly will only cause havoc and killings rather than what the primary goal is which is show the true colours of this Lula/Dilma governments. Blimey, glad I am going to the games I have tickets for with locals!

Will the airports be able to cope? Heard some airport works will not be completed in time. I have two internal flights, Sao Paulo to Porto Alegre and then Porto Alegre to Rio. Looks like there is still a lot of work to do on a few of the stadiums.

Ah, then I will be online then. Do you know what time it opens on the 12th? If you're able to get connected on two different computers I've heard that if you keep refreshing there's bigger chance of getting ahead in line even if they say you'll move back in the queue. Although since I don't trust this information I'm unsure. I'll be in a meeting at a law firm in Bristol hmmmm, this might be difficult. Might have to get someone to do it for me. If you're lucky there'll be tickets for those games when you get back from the meeting. Think I'll engineer a move to dive out of the meeting.

They hadn't sent us any e-mail but went into our application and saw that it was successful. Tickets to all six games in Salvador. Going to be some s*** this World Cup. Just done this. Got all the tickets I wanted in Porto Alegre (my base). Didn't get England v Uruguay tickets, will just try and buy some outside the ground on the day. That's excellent. Just remember that buying tickets outside the arena is a criminal offence in Brazil and also if you really want the ticket try through the first come first get phase on the 12th of Marc at 12PM CET. Is it all the games in Porto Alegre? You'll have some cold World Cup, the morning must be freezing cold for Brazil. Never been there but could easily imagine morning reaching 3 - 5 degrees. I presume the games I didn't get are sold out though so I doubt they will be any tickets on the 12th? Will the ticket thing be enforced strictly? It's also a criminal offence here under the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994 but it happens. Aware that Porto Alegre won't be hot, but I don't choose where my friends live! Also spending time in Rio and Sao Paulo.

I can't bloody wait, this is going to be so good.

Still not heard from second FIFA ballot, hope I've got some tickets but not overly confident.

It's just a shit name for this odd loan window for lower division clubs. No 'emergency' about it. FIFA want it scrapped.

They don't need to look good, they need to be sufficient to allow NTC to grant planning permission. No point wasiting money beyond the minimum requirement for something like this. Planning app docs available at http://idoxpublicaccess.northtyneside.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=MZ6Y86BHDX000

They need a manager that will employ tactics other than 'lob as many balls as possible into the box from wide areas and hope for the best'.
