    Maintenance Updates

I can't see any avatars and yes they are turned on.
  5. Taylor DM? Are you on drugs? If you are going to take one of our central defenders and play him as a DM it has to be Collocini.
  6. Lets play safe while were f***ing around with relegation ay. The last time I saw Lua Lua play was last season against Sunderland 2nd XI & he was f***ing s****, but then he was playing against players like Liam Miller & Ross Wallace players with nous who have played CL football not the cream of Oldham's youth team. The academy players who are in & around the first team Taylor, Edgar & Carroll are light years ahead Lua Lua although them chaps are not midfielders, which I think is part of the point Ron was making. Play safe? We have no fucker to play in the centre of the park. If LuaLua comes off the bench he has to play on the right wing to be honest. He'd be useless in central midfield at this level.
  7. He has already made his Premiership debut. My bad, I can only remember him coming on at the stoke cup game. He came off the bench 3 times in the FA Cup, twice against Stoke and against Arsenal and also came off the bench against Bolton and Everton in the Premier League.
  8. Glenn Roeder: "It's daylight robbery. We dominated from start to finish and gave them two early Christmas presents"
  9. I can play right back, centre back or central midfield. I might not be fit in time though, will have to see how my ankle is.
  10. Jamie McClen - from the Premier League to Newcastle Blue Star. Some step down. Did he ever play in the CL? I can't remember.
  11. I don't agree with that whatsoever, really. Our youngsters have just been s***, that's the problem. Ramage, Taylor, Edgar, Huntington, Pattison, Brittain, O'Brien, Chopra, Carroll - off the top of me head - have been our alleged 'better products' of the academy. And they've all had a fair amount of playing time in the first team. We do seem to have some sort of phobia of using the young'uns at crucial times, though. We throw our kids in far too late though. Clubs like Everton, West Ham, Boro and Arsenal throw young 'uns in at 16, we wait till they're in their 20s, by which time kids at other clubs are too far ahead to ever catch. Exactly, if we had Rooney when he was a youngster he would be turning out for Gateshead now, and not Manure I think our problem is most of the kids we've had have been a million miles away from the likes of Rooney. Most have been pretty crap who have vanished, and i include the ones who we've had high hopes for- Paul Brayson anyone? Indeed, there are hardly any players in the Premier League that have come through our set up. Aaron Hughes is one, Chopra could be another but he's back on loan in the Championship, can't think of any more other than those still with us. A few have gone on to play in the Championship such as Pattinson and Orr with a few going to Scotland.
  12. At least you were only a day out, I was a year out with my FA Youth Cup thread yesterday!
  13. Jan 12th is a Monday! I presume you mean the 11th? Either should be fine for me.
  14. He came off the bench 5 times last season and while he didn't set the place alight he certainly didn't look out of his depth.
  15. Xisco, older, fitter and with more experience, its common sense man Wullie. Xisco has had no chance what soever and if he's sold I lose all faith in the recruiting policies of this club. That's assuming the idiots who boo him and say he's s*** already haven't scared him off. Put him on the bench for the weekend in place of Carroll as Viduka and Carroll are way to similar. How is it common sense to have 3 strikers and no midfielders on the bench?
  16. What do you mean? Nowt pal, I'll just have to see if I can get hold of a DeLorean for the night. Alnwick is the brother of Ben yes? And be good to see Spear get a run out. Yes is he, we poached him from the Mackems earlier this year. Oh so he's seen as quite good then, The Mackems seem to have quite a good academy on the go. Hard to judge at that age for a 'keeper but he is in the England U16 squad.

  18. What do you mean? Nowt pal, I'll just have to see if I can get hold of a DeLorean for the night. The bit about coming along was aimed at people who live local, as most of our supporters do. You do realize that the years in the title are wrong? Ha, no I hadn't notcied. :-[ Still hungover tbh.
  19. I guess the staff will also be reluctant to change a winning side too much.
  20. Who knows, no Kadar or Tozer either who are still eligible at this level. I think Frank Wiafe Danquah is injured.
