  1. "This is the same Rangers whose supporters threatened to torch our stadium and whose manager demanded that one of our directors was named over his involvement with an SFA judicial panel, which resulted in TV cameras camping outside his door and threats being made by various outlandish factions. We also had Sandy Jardine publicly calling for repercussions for those clubs who have not supported Rangers."Given that, how could I, as an individual, be expected to roll over and have my tummy tickled by some inducement to allow Rangers to come into the First Division. I gave my opinion to the board on Monday night and the board had a position which was not in any way different from my own.

"That does not mean, if and when there is a meeting of the SFL clubs and a vote, that the outcome will go the way we want it to go. I imagine some clubs will see some short-term advantage to be had.

"But if, long-term, you cheese off your season-ticket holders and supporters and backers, is it worth it? Do you sell your position for 30 pieces of silver for some short-term advantage or take the moral high ground?"

From the Raith Rovers Chairman and board.

  2. Games getting cancelled now.

Saints can reveal that R.S.C. Anderlecht will replace Glasgow Rangers in this year's Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup.

Saints have today revealed that Belgian champions R.S.C Anderlecht will replace Glasgow Rangers in this year's Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup, due to the well-publicised circumstances surrounding the Scottish side.

The decision has not been made lightly and has been reached with the integrity of the competition in mind, ensuring that the annual event will remain an extremely competitive experience with both Arsenal and Anderlecht bringing along a first team squad.

St Mary's is set to be an extremely popular destination this summer in the build up to the Club's first season back in the Premier League, and the opposition confirmed to take on Nigel Adkins' men in pre-season friendlies during July and August will certainly whet the appetite.

Fresh from hosting Arsenal and Anderlecht in the Markus Liebherr Memorial Cup on 14th July, Saints will welcome three teams in Ajax, Wolves and Udinese that are sure to further test their credentials as a top-flight side.

I honestly think this is the end for them.

No SPL place, not even applied for SFL.  They have no players and plenty of talk of no money to even pay any salaries.  Really cannot see them surviving this....

  3. Tyrone Smith ‏@TyroneSTV

#invernessct have confirmed they will be voting NO to a Newco #rangers being allowed to play in the SPL

So thats Hearts, Hibs, Dundee United, Caley Thistle and reports this morning that St Johnstone all voting no.

  4. CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION ORDERED INTO RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB ACQUISITION AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

The Crown Office has today instructed Strathclyde Police to conduct a criminal investigation into the acquisition of Rangers Football Club in May 2011 and the subsequent financial management of the Club.

The investigation into alleged criminality follows a preliminary police examination of information passed to them in February this year by the Club administrators.

The Procurator Fiscal for the West of Scotland will now work with Strathclyde Police to fully investigate the acquisition and financial management of Rangers Football Club and any related reports of alleged criminality during that process.

  5. Aberdeen to vote No as well.  Get In.

Only two more clubs need to come out against and then they're out of the SPL?

Yep, Rangers need at least 8-4 in their favour.

    Wonder what Celtic will do?

Lawell and Celtic are looking like the decision will be made for them.  The majority of fans want a no but from a power, business and financial stance Lawell and the board would IMO have wanted to vote yes which would have been a disaster for the relationship between club and fans.  If its looking like more than enough are voting no (which it is) Celtic may as well vote no to save face with their supporters.

  6. I was convinced Newco would be voted in but after Mad Vlad taking the lead yesterday there is no chance we will see Zombie Rangers in the SPL.  Hibs will also be a no and with Motherwells going to the fans its all effectively all over.

At this rate they will be lucky to even be in the SFL next season.

  7. Joseph Barton ‏ @Joey7Barton

My favourite memory of him though is when he dropped his spuds when Keano put it on him. Goodnight Al, sleep well matey...

  8. Joseph Barton ‏ @Joey7Barton

...That he would retire from international football. No sorry, not having him, never have. Selfish, boring man him. He can do one...

  9. Joseph Barton ‏ @Joey7Barton

I'd take it off Hansen and @GaryLineker but not from that bell, same fella that stamped on Neil Lennon, then threatened FA if they banned him

  10. Somebody (kasper?) needs to stick Joeys head on that youtube video of the angry German kid going mental at his keyboard.  You can just picture Joey doing that right now...

  11. Don't think I have ever heard of Grant Hanley before

We are in a position where we need to improve the first team rather than sign squad players imo (ie a centre back signing should push Saylor/Williamson down the pecking order).

Was being linked with Manchester United not so long ago after Fergie was raving about him.

  12. Whilst I think a striker is one of the last positions we need to fill at the moment if we could offload the likes of Best I would love to see us go for Derdiyok.  Would offer us a different approach up front and he only has 12 months remaining on his contract so could probably be picked up for a decent fee.

  13. I still don't think Ba is really suited to the role he played yesterday, but he's working hard for the team and as long as the system as a whole works I guess it's worth the sacrifice.

He played that position for Hoffenheim with Ibisevic in the centre and Obasi on the right.

  14. Lee Ryder ‏

French media claim #nufc want Geoffrey Kondogbia of Lens

    dat name

He was great in my RC Lens FM 2011 team

We seem to be keeping a close eye on their youth set up what with Abeid signing and Modeste, Situ and Remy all having had trials.
