  1. So this lad is more of a wide player than a central attacking midfield/second striker like De Jong ?

Neither really a replacement for Cabaye then ??

I hope Capella is more of a winger tbh. Couldn't handle Sissoko & Gouffran on the wings again.... Awful.

Gouffran should be played as a striker only, I don't care if he is backup (although I would play him ahead of Cisse).

He played at Bordeaux for a while as a wide player and was pretty bang average, he was moved up front and started banging them away. He has come here and we've practically played him as a second full back. Complete waste.

  2. True story, mind. He's a person that consistently takes the easy option.

Has of the hallmarks of someone who had a very harsh/strict upbringing, was forced into practising a lot and consequently never really developed much self esteem or motivation. It's sad because had he ended up at somewhere like Man U at 20 or sooner he'd probably be something very special right now.

  3. Still can't see him ever playing regularly for a big club.

He's a brilliant player but no-one seems to want him, he clearly isn't wanted here but there doesn't seem to be a sniff despite someone probably being able to pick him up for a quarter of his worth.

    Such a wasted talent.

  4. Dirk kyut?

Was that the Roeder saga?

    My word, that was ridiculous.

People are always on about Dirk Kuyt (it was before my time on here) but I swear Brett Emerton was worse. Felt like I read about that link every day in the Journal for about 3 years. Then he signed for Blackburn.

    Good shout,

  5. If he leaves along with Debuchy then these will be the only Premier League goalscorers from last season who are still on the books:

    Gouffran 6

    Ben Arfa 3

    Cisse 2

    Anita 1

    Dummett 1

    Taylor 1

and some think Gouffran doesn't deserve a go up front

  6. Must admit, I am quite looking forward to seeing this bloke play.

I am trying to but I can just stop seeing him sitting behing Tiote as our 'quarterback' punting balls up to Cisse who is offside or just hasn't made the run :(

  7. Within a year, Zaha has gone from a big signing for Man U and an England international, to someone who struggles to get a game for Cardiff. He has seriously lost his way and I wouldn't take the chance on him.

My feeling is that he's a good athlete who was very effective in the Championship but whose technical limitations have been exposed in the Premiership. I don't think it's a matter of him 'recovering form'. I think he needs to put in a lot of work on his game.

I don't remember much of Tom Ince when he stepped up either.

  8. I probably blame Carroll the least.

You are being paid £40k a week, adored by the fans of the club you support and given the number 9 shirt but go to a club for a bit more money? :dontknow:

  9. Any player with any ambition to win anything, or progress needs to and has to leave us.

Anyone who blames the players is an idiot, the owner and manager are the reasons, 100%.

Not sure why anyone still gets angry at a player who leaves to join a club want to win stuff.

Nolan (West Ham), Barton (QPR) are obviously after the money Enrique (Liverpool) fair enough. The only one I do blame is Carroll, he was earning more money than we could ever dream of, was given the number 9 shirt and doing what we all would absolutely love to do as Newcastle fans.

  10. We sort of knew what we were getting when we bought him didn't we? The lad that came over on strike, there was a chance he might have been a bit of trouble

He hardly has a clean history.

Lovely player to watch though and I wish he got a lot more games.

  11. That picture!

It was nice seeing him and gullit getting on the other day:aww:

It was indeed, he might have made many mistakes here but at least he had the decency to walk away (without trying to leech the club).

He'll always have my respect for that alone.
