  1. Well the club is in turmoil and has been put up for sale. Why are you still expecting Ashley to subsidise the squad with £20m? That was his plan when he was sitting with the supporters as owner with KK in charge. Things have moved on quite a bit since then. I was referring to the the "everything rosy" scenario pre-shitstorm - his alleged plan would have failed with falling match income leading to the £20m not being used for transfers. But 'pre-shitstorm' things were going alright weren't they, so why do you assume falling match income? Everones gate's are falling/not at capacity - do you think a mid-table team even with Keegan would get 52k every week in the current climate?

  3. Did the structured plan consider falling income from ST/match day income as the football declined? The £20m subsidy would disappear leaving no money for squad improvement leading to a vicious circle.
  4. What would relegation do for the plan? Year on year with insignificant squad improvement while others spend would leave us more threatened.
  5. Presuming they exist, I "trust" the groups who've remained anonymous more than the two who've spouted shite and talked themselves up for publicity (and it looks like that's their main motivation)
  6. I thought we'd seen the end of too many Monday night games with the spread of kick-off times on a Saturday/Sunday but they seem to be making a comeback - two in a row is taking the piss. The West Brom game is part of a full midweek fixture list - Internationals are to blame for that (see also Man U in Jan)
  7. I wasn't talking about winning headers - I think he's decent in the air - I'm talking about being out-muscled by CFs with good body strength who put themselves about - that's what I think we need a bit more strength for.
  8. Without being too personal, I argued that signing Coloccini and selling Faye was daft but we ended up arguing over which one was better - my point then and now was that it was a good signing as long as Faye stayed. I said after West Ham and how he played Cole I felt he would struggle against physical CFs like Yakubu, Jones and Heskey - I don't like being proved "right" and hope we can find a beast to play along side him. I'm also slightly disappointed that for an Argentinian, he hasn't really hurt anyone yet. I thought Faye wanted to leave because he fell out with keegan at half time in one of our games at the end of last season? A good spot from you anyway, we need someone like Samba to come in really and I think they had their eye on a replacement as they went for Senderos. It's been reported like that (Everton?) and I'd be disappointed if either of them couldn't get over it and put it behind them - grudges are a Keegan flaw unfortunately. (See I don't have a Messiah complex ) As you say moving forward its about type - I'm not a Taylor fan but on his good days I think he's more of a footballing CH like Collocini (and to a lesser degree Cacapa) - I think we need a mix.

Okay lets say he did - if we intended to sign Coloccini anyway then its still a crime to not sign a replacement given the number of defenders that left.

  12. Nobody would lift the place like Keegan apart from Shearer, this is our problem as supporters though if we will only accept a former hero to come in and lift our spirits. I actually agree with you here - unfortunately the last 5 years of drearyness and false dawns have driven us to this place where a lot of people (probably including myself) only see one way out. The problem is as I've said before that too many hopes were raised in January - people thought we could (even after a bad start) just snap back into the mid 90s but I'd argue that's a measure of the man as well. Looking forward under new owners I can see why Keegan would appeal and equally I could see how they could be wary of pointing an "outsider" - that's why I think Keegan returning but not on a 3 year contract might be best.
  13. Wimbledon were football murderers. Not only did they play no "proper" football but they were cheating, nasty, diving thugs whose main tactic was to get the 90 minutes over with as quickly as possibly. They were the antithesis of everything I like about football and Kinnear was central to this. His mantle was carried on by Allardyce at Bolton who tried to fool people with his pseudo-science that it was any different. If not wanting idiots like this anywhere near my football club is arbitrary then fair enough but I'd just rather not see it.
  14. It's a risible failure of both imagination and intellect if you believe Keegan is the only manager in the world who can handle the job. Do you guys really believe this bloke is the fucking Messiah? Embarrassing. No I don't think he;s the messiah - I just think he's the best manager we've had in my lifetime by a mile and someone who could do the job in the short/medium term. I know he has many flaws but so does everyone. I'm willing to back someone better of course - pity none of you can name anyone.
  15. I've been accused in defending Keegan of choosing which media reports to believe - nice to see the other side leaping on some unsubstantiated bollocks to kick off another jizzfest. Again - name a proven winner who would come and who would actually lift the place.
  16. But why would he want to pursue the claim if the club under new owners were looking to re-instate him? it's hardly an encouraging sign from their point of view is it? It's speculation at the moment - I'd imagine if new owners did want to appoint him then the claim would be subject to negotiations which is fair enough. At the moment though with either an extended period with Ashley as owner or new owners who want someoone else, I don't see why he should or would drop it.
  17. I would imagine the 8m is the worth of the contract both parties signed - heaven forbid he takes a stand based on normal employment law - what a twat eh?
  18. Keegan abolished the reserves because he didn't give a shit about youth players and only cared about big money signings. 12 years on and the same fucking bullshit is typed and believed.
  19. You can add Robert Lee - his best signing by miles. He also "peaked" with us before the Shearer signing so any reply that includes that is crap.
  20. I know this is romantic bollocks but I was never surprised that he failed at other clubs/jobs (promotions aside) - I always felt this was the only place he could work or would really want to and that this is the only club that would want him. england aside i don't think he failed personally elsewhere...but i do agree with your latter point, and it's the reason i can't see a third coming working i said this at the time when MA appointed KK that what was needed, IMO then and now, was a clean sweep...a new manager with a long term "plan" (sorry, really i am) in mind don't get me wrong if whoever takes over brings KK back i'll be happier than i am now but i'd be happier if whoever they are thought they'd identified the next wenger/purple face and stuck with him through thick and thin and backed him to the hilt if KK comes back i think it would only ever be short term, i.e. < 3 years By failed I mean didn't succeed greatly if you see what I mean - he didn't really "succeed" here but in terms of establishing something a bit special I think we were unique. I tend to agree with your main sweep - as I've said before, if he'd been charged in January with keeping us up and then left in May I'd have been happy - however I think on both sides the idea that he would last 3 years with the structure as rigidly applied as it was in the end was asking too much. I think both Ashley and Keegan probably thought it would be flexible enough for it to work but unfortunately it broke down. (This where I blame all paries but mainly Llambia et al). On your final point I think if he was given carte blanche (possibly with a stake like Niall Quinn) then I'd trust him more to stay long term.

  22. Speaking personally and with people I know, Keegan was actually only part of the reason - him wanting to back his structure and his personnel when its and their positions seemed untenable were the core issue along with the failure to significantly improve the squad . I also think the keeping up the pressure on Ashley is to make sure he does sell in a reasonable timeframe rather than just letting things drag. I don't see why new owners shouldn't some under the same scrutiny as Ashley and be criticised if they make major mistakes - as I said above a vocal fanbase is better than sheep.
  23. Hang on - are those against it suggesting that we/they should give up the right to judge an/or protest against any future owner based on the fact that it might have been wrong to protest against Ashley? The whole point as I understand it is to organise fan opinion (good and bad) - or do you want a fanbase of sheep who bend over and take it no matter what?
  24. I think we need someone who sees the "Investment" as long term - I know Ashley said that was his intention but I'm not convinced. That's why I was interested in the mooted Chinese deal which was linked to property/business development around the ground of which football would be almost a sideline - I know that sounds bad but from a business pov I think its better than a "whimsical" billionaire or a consortium which is stretching itself just to buy the club.
  25. Depends if they bring in someone to do the job day-to-day - like a Mort or a Quinn - as has been said a few times I think it was the perceived absentee landlord approach that people objected to rather than where the mafia were from as such.
