Seriously? Some deals may go through, but you'll be surprised and pissed off if some players don't move until the last moment while waiting out for the best possible deal they can get? Just a question. Do you think the club should up the ante to get a player early? Pay over the odds, or something, in either transfer fee or player wages to get the deal done 2 weeks sooner?

There might just as easily be some players Roeder is interested in who haven't been mentioned anywhere yet. We don't know. Or at least, I don't know. Perhaps you do. We've also signed plenty of players who were openly admired by the manager prior to signing them. So what.... Some you sign, some you don't. You said you have no idea who we might sign as the club are doing their business in private, I said that we do have some idea who we MIGHT sign as Roeder has admitted an interest in two players. So what does that have to do with Roeder, like? Do you want the manager to change the formation to accomodate an average player like Parker? Roeder is the manager right or did I miss something? Its up to him to get the best out of the team, If Parker and Emre don't work its up to him to change it. Parker and Butt or Emre and Butt look to be a lot more effective so he needs to make a decision. My guess is in the long term he wont, when all are fit Parker and Emre will be in the middle. So was it the managers fault that Faye was shite, that Ameobi is shite, that Bramble is shite, that Carr is shite, that Ramage is shite, that Babayaro is shite? Well compare that to the last bloke at the helm and he's looking like Secret Squirrel. Like I said, there was no harm in him confirming his intrests in Bale and Barnes due to the amount of high profile clubs who are also intrested in them. I know what you mean, im just pointing out we arent exactly keeping our business private in this case. From his wording it doesn't even look like he was out about any specific player just the championship in general so he could have kept that info to himself. Just because a few clubs are also looking at them it doesn't mean we should be making our interest known aswell. There is no confirmation the club has actively made any approach for those two players, they are conducting transfer deals in private.

Do you believe that every player linked with the club is of genuine interest to the club? Some will be and some won't be. Of course, but Roeder only confirmed his intrests in Bale and Barnes as so many clubs are after them it would do our chances of getting them no harm if he was to confirm it. But it didn't even looked like he was asked about those two, his answer was something like "the only championship players im interested in are Bale and Barnes" not exactly keeping club business private. :roll: All he's saying is there are a couple of players he thinks are good players. Doesn't mean we're going to sign them. The business of the actual players the club may be actively trying to sign IS private right now.

Aye, he's decent mate. But the problem is because he doesn't fit in he turns other players who are good into just decent.

Haven't a clue, which is good because it shows the club is keeping things private and doing things properly. I expect more late deals than early deals, so if we sign any players not deemed to be the players people would like we'll get the 'bad planning' stuff back to the top again. However, all clubs, players and agents will want the best deal they can get, so this is a pretty logical way for it to work out.

Players that are difficult to fit into a team usually tend to be the flair type player, those individuals of exceptional ability. Parker is definitely not one of those. I think it's rare for a good player who isn't a flair player to be difficult to fit into a team. Although I have posted about him struggling to fit in with Emre I'm becoming more inclined to think that the problem is he doesn't fit into a standard 4-4-2, this plus his average individual quality, of course.

Wouldn't want Barton tbh. Very average imo. Not sure if i would want him, am about 50-50 tbh, but the scenario was the main point, swapping Butt for another mid as i dont trust the club to replace his position quick enough. I don't think he's going to be over the hill soon, so I don't see replacing him as a priority when you consider the other areas of the team that are weak.

We've won 14 league games that he's taken part in since he's been here, 8 of then under Roeder. How many lost or drawn? How many has he actually played? He's played 41 league games, we've won 14 - Drew 9 - Lost 18. 05/06 With Parker Home - Won 7 - Drew 4 - Lost 2 Away - Won 3 - Drew 1 - Lost 9 Without Parker Home - Won 4 - Drew 1 - Lost 1 Away - Won 3 - Drew 1 - Lost 2 06/07 With Parker Home - Won 3 - Drew 2 - Lost 3 Away - Won 1 - Drew 2 - Lost 4 Without Parker Home - Won 2 - Drew 0 - Lost 0 Away - Won 1 - Drew 0 - Lost 0 What would be interesting for those who can't remember would be reading match reports from those games. Some of the games we won with Parker in the team last season were terrible performances. The biggest factor imo for those terrible, dour performances was down to the Parker/Emre pairing. I think I even made a thread about it and I don't start many threads. They simply do not complement one another so one of them should go. Emre is a much better footballer so it shouldn't be a tough decision. Should I feel bad because I'm starting to nod along to your posts about Parker? These things happen, mate. Probably one of these 24 hour bugs, everything will be back to normal tomorrow and I'll be posting shit again. :winking:
