With £100 Mill to spend you'd expect to be challenging the title, could you see that team challenging? i personally couldnt! I agree. It looks shite to me, tbh.

Krul R. Taylor S. Taylor Ferdinand M. Taylor Milner Parker Emre Duff Bent Owen Not being funny, but £100m and you'd still want to see Parker and Emre in the middle? bluelaugh.gif Sorry, mate. Honest. That's me off for a can.
  3. Or keep buying them and watch them sold off on the cheap a la Leeds, would you prefer us to go that way as long as we keep spending money? As for your "deluded as ever" comment, I put that down to you not being able to answer the question properly. All the talk of a possible buy out would include paying off or huge debts, of course they will want something in return but the only way to make money in football is for the club to be successful. how do you think the club will be successful without spending money There are 2 options. The first one would be for them to invest their own money into the club to give us that lift up into the CL places, from then on with the the extra income they can operate at a break even policy where they only spend what the club has made through profit. The second option would be to get a decent managerial set up installed similar to what Bolton have got and move the club forward from there. Have Bolton not spent any money? What have they won?
  4. How do you know we didn't go for Campbell? Roeder came out publically and said he didn't want Campbell because he hadn't played enough games in the last couple of seasons tbh. Aye that was a pretty clear sign to me, thought it might have been to others aswell but I often forget who im talking to on here! Eh? WTF are you on about now? Jesus. You must be one really dumb person.
  5. How do you know we didn't go for Campbell? Roeder came out publically and said he didn't want Campbell because he hadn't played enough games in the last couple of seasons tbh. It was rhetorical, gemmill. But anyway, as you've answered it all I can ask is what's all this garbage about bad planning (from various people) then? If the manager didn't want the player and didn't go for him that sounds like he's sticking to a plan as far as I can tell. That an individual on this forum thinks we should have a signed a player the manager didn't want doesn't = bad planning by the club.
  6. How do you know we didn't go for Campbell? How do you know if we did go for him but he didn't want to join? You talk about free transfers as though they cost nowt at all. How do you know what his wage demands may have been? Do you know for sure whether Roeder wanted these players?
  7. OMG, it's the boiler making daft noises again. Yup, every thread some foolish person just has to run the club down as shite.

You would buy 30 defenders? :winking:

Aye, it's good this internet thing. I used to write this kind of stuff down on paper and dream about us being better back when I was 12. :winking: Its threads like this that keep me young at heart. You should give it a go! With a real £100m I'd actually use some of it to make a financial offer to Wenger to take over as manager that he wouldn't be able to refuse. I'd give him a free hand at rebuilding the team with the rest, selling anyone he likes in the process.
  10. They'd all be legends if they win the league, which is what we need, not an individual to adore. Just my opinion. Agreed mate, but that ain't Als fault,i don't believe he was supposed to be the final piece of Keegans puzzle though, had he stayed all KK had to do was buy 2 quality defenders and leagues would've arrived almost certainly.I know its hypothetical like.Instead Dalglish went about demolishing the side and the rest is history.Just 1 more season of Special K would have done the trick. Aye, I'm pretty much in agreement with that, although the team was so good I'm not sure who could have joined at the time who would have made the difference. We lacked a quality keeper for sure,Nigel Martyn at that time at Palace wouldn't have cost much. And a quick centre back to replace the aging Albert or the inadequate Bramble-esque Peacock and maybe got Stuart Pearce a year or two before we did sign him. A leader like Pearce may have done the trick, to cover for Keegan's massive error of letting Venison go.

Pay myself £35m and give £65m to the manager to spend on players of his choice. No sane person could complain about that.
  13. blueconfused.gif which one? The one Henry got sent off. Whenever it was...... :winking:
  14. True. I recall the match too, as I was working and listening to the game (although wasnt supposed to) and I recall the whining of the BBC commentators displaying their usual lack of bias  (and it wasn't even that arch-arsehole Alan Green either) but what got me was the gurners fans - what short memories about referees ! They cant recall the atrociously biased Graham Ashby's disgraceful performance against Newcastle in general and Ginola in paticular, but screamed against Poll, about how a Campbell tackle FROM BEHIND on Robert IN THE PENALTY AREA when he was last defender was NOT a pen (it damn well was) but their sending off shouldn't have happened (guilty as charged, the dirty bastard) it was ridiculous and my respect for Arsenal fans, previously quite high (certainly higher than their Spuds neighbours) disappeared overnight and has never recovered. Although I still have a higher regard than many other "top" clubs. I dont think I can remember a display of bias from the rags like it after the game though. Their attempts to display (without actually showing where it was actually wrong) that the GURNERS were had done to was as laughable as their attacks on Shearer after that affair with the ludicrous affair with Lennon. ("How DARE Shearer not sign for our club Man U !!!!! We'll attack him every way we can !") Funny you should mention arse fans going down in your estimation. I was on "hello" terms with someone who was an arse fan right up until this game. The wanker showed his true colours after this match though.
  15. Don't agree tbh. We finished 4th, 3rd and 5th for a reason and that's because generally the players were better than those we have now.

  17. Can't believe how some people are over-rating Spurs. Unbelievable stuff. Yes, it's a tough match and we may not win, but ffs they're not that good.

  19. The Halls owned all the shares at one point. When the club becmae a PLC it was from them releasing shores for other to buy. As they were reudcing to 60.%+ they weren't viewed as trying to buy the company. Subsequently they have done nothing but sell. This has taken them down to ~42% holding. Last year when there were shares given away rather than cash the club had to formally say that the potential increase in shareholding by the Halls was not an attempted takeover. The Hall's 42% is cleverly split. Sir John owns 29% which means he could sell all of those to someone without the new person having to say he wanted to buy them all. Good informative post. No need for the last two paragraphs. Overall I agree. It was the last 2 paragraphs that caused my earlier response. I doubt he's stupid, but his agenda is obvious and really does cause the blinkers to be on full time. Sad, tbh.
  20. In my opinion... No, he isn't one of the best players at Newcastle, he's over-rated. No, he did not have a great year last season, we did better when he was out of the team, as we are this season too. No, it's nowt to do with Butt having a bit of a run, I haven't rated Parker since he signed. Cheers
  21. I'd sell Parker. If you want, instead of calling me an idiot, why not try to answer constructively the post I made earlier up this page? Thanks in advance
  22. What a load of bollocks.
  23. Pity you don't post that when people call for Fred's head because he's spouted some shite. The bit I'm worried about is the idea he may ever manage Newcastle. It's worrying that he doesn't have what it takes within his character to give some deserved credit to players he's previously fallen out with. That's all that's being said here really. Fundamentally, I don't give a shite what it is he actually does say. Pity you choose to hijack threads and twist them so they discuss the fat wanker rather than the original subject matter. Pity you can't apply the same standards to all.
