  1. We don't necessarily need a right winger at all, what we need is a good balance and organisation across the team. There's no reason why we can't use a "winger" on the left such as Zog or Duff and not use a traditional winger on the right. Alternatively, Duff could play on the right. It's interesting that people are on about wingers here because in the traditional sense we can definitely improve on Milner if that's the type of player people want to see. As a right sided midfield player I think Milner will be ok as a squad man.
  2. Still no denying of LeazesMag this time. What happened to your vehement denial of LeazesMag last time? I beg you have lied and lied, misled and misled so many times you have forgotten that you are not supposed to be LeazesMag. Poor Beermonster! Shame on you on your stupid, naive, silly, discriminative, disgusting and hideous stereotyping of people living in Middlesbrough, and people in general. omg
  3. Aye, they were the same competition and one that none of the big teams took seriously. It's quite amazing that you're submitting this as proof of how great your man Ken Bates is, but then was it you who mentioned diarrohea earlier on? You certainly seem to fill your posts with it regardless. The assertion that this competition is an indicator of great work by your man Bates is a s**** on, for sure. I suppose you'll soon be telling everybody that the Newcastle Board ousted by SJH was actually excellent because we won the Texaco Cup (twice) and the Anglo Italian Cup? Awwww thats so sweet coming to your buddy's rescue because he needs a rest from lying through his teeth. I'll clarify your first sentence now. The Full Members Cup and the Zenith Data Systems Cup were the same competition but they were not the League Cup as your fellow Shepherd leghumper NE5 seems to think. I mentioned the two trophies not 'as proof of how great Ken Bates is' - as you seem to think - but merely to prove he brought trophies to Stamford Bridge - a feat Freddie was unable to surpass for us. BTW its a very tired old trick to put words into your opponents mouth then to rubbish what they have supposed to have said. Its also very pathetic. As for your last line suppose all you want - just don't attack me on the basis of your poorly thought out conclusions. More diarrohea I see. You say you'll "clarify" my first sentence and then you don't. Are you mentally challenged, or just a liar?
  4. Jesus! That's like the dog telling the cat it's got a hairy arse. Are you on this forum just to take the piss, like you admitted on Toontastic? Fuck it, I'm not even lowering myself to your level. I'll leave you to it. Good. Do that. I'm surprised you're here tbh, as you can't mess around editing people's posts to make it appear they posted something they never did you must find it quite difficult.

You certainly seem to fill your posts with it regardless. The assertion that this competition is an indicator of great work by your man Bates is a shite on, for sure. 7. Oh well. As long as the club gets what he's worth and brings in another 4th choice CB as replacement I won't be worrying too much.
  8. Don't know, Dave. How does any club find the cash? I know there is the odd sarcastic remark about Fred not putting in his own cash, but there aren't that many who do. He'll get the support and backing from somewhere. Leeds has a massive potential, only a fool would disagree with that and this might just be a good time for some people to throw some weight behind a serious effort to recover. Fred will at least try to make a better fist of it than Bates, which is all I'm saying.
  9. If he needs an increase of 60% to get to 30k he's been earning too much on his current contract for his level of ability and stage of development. Mind you, I wouldn't pay Milner 30k pw anyway. Not that this is a comparison worth making either.
  10. As I said, overly sensitive. You may have a point with just one of those 3 people but I reckon 2 of them understand the point of the comparison.
  11. So appointing the right manager is irrelivent, providing they back him? Ahhhh, ok. Shepherd is AWESOME. Such a role model for other chairmen. Appoint any old codger off the street then give him BILLIONS to spent in transfers and by your criteria, you'd then be a good chairman. mackems.gif Care to link to where I said that....? It's certainly not in the post you quoted, but never mind.
  12. So did everyone else. Its just some people took it as an opportunity to do something different with it Sure you're not just being overly sensitive? I think it's obvious what the comparison is about, or at least it should be.
  13. Personally, I don't give a shite who the Chairman is of any club, so I don't often think about criteria for measuring the performance of a Chairman, tbh. I couldn't name more than 3 or 4 in the entire country and none at all outside of the English PL. As long as a Chairman and Board back their manager what happens next is down to the footballing decisions of the manager and the players. As I've said often enough and you appear to have missed. If Fred goes to Leeds there is a very good chance he'll back any manager with cash better than Bates is doing, which means if they have a decent manager they will have a better chance of recovery and getting back to the PL than they have under Bates. And that is the point. This should be obvious to a person of your intelligence, Baggio.
  14. When you stop using language that sounds like it's from a playground for 5 year olds I'll start taking you seriously, Baggio.
  15. Le Saux is one No, he wasn't. How not? I'm not arguing, just wondering edit: actually i am arguing, re-signed for Chelsea August 97, and heres his England caps record http://www.englandstats.com/playerreport.php?pid=583 how can you say no he wasnt, given his caps either side of the transfer I'm not arguing either, I'm actually quite interested in this now it's been brought up. Anyway, fair enough. Le Saux was bought by Chelsea when he wasn't an established international, they sold him but then they resigned him so fair enough, he counts even though his better days were behind him following his best years at Blackburn. I see it as slightly similar to when Newcastle signed Kenny Sansom, for example. Nonsense, most expensive British defender when signed. How can you say his best days were behind him? And that comparison with Kenny Sansom is just laughable Not really. Nearly 30, same as Sansom, he just didn't have the same off the field problems. The transfer fee is irrelevant. If you're going to use transfer fees as a measure you'll be telling me Jenas is fantastic and even Luque. Le Saux was better than Sansom at that age and I'm not saying otherwise, but the statement that Le Saux's best years were at Blackburn isn't laughable at all. We'll have to agree to disagree. Anyway. There's one England player signed by Chelsea while Bates was Chairman. More anyone?

  17. You obviously haven't understood anything I've posted about Fred in the past.
  18. Hmm, can't see why you're posting that, like. Bit of a stupid thing to say really. In a thread about Shepherd taking over Leeds which contains a number of posts implying Shepherd is shite compared to Bates, you make a post listing trophies won by Chelsea while Bates was Chairman. What was the reason for you posting that information? Was it to show us all that you have knowledge of Chelsea or was it to imply Batees was a better Chairman at Chelsea than Shepherd was at Newcastle? Maybe it was both. What I do know for sure is that it certainly wasn't made to show Shepherd was a better Chairman than Bates.
  19. It's hilarious the way some people like to make posts telling us all how much money 'x' player is on, as if they know. Makes me laugh every time. Nobody on here has the facts. Nobody on here knows what his current wage is, nobody knows what the offer is and nobody knows what Zog and Milner are being paid, not that it's at all relevant what they're earning. It's also irrelevant how much failures like Luque and Boumsong were earning. It is especically stupid for Taylor to be compared to Gerrard and Carragher by his father. If this is true then Taylor needs to get his feet on the ground, or at least his father's feet on the ground. He should negotiate his deal on his own behalf, or have someone competent appointed by the PFA as his representative in these negotiations. Among a number of the accurate posts are these: danny_nufc http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=45064.msg1003932#msg1003932 CG (as usual) http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=45064.msg1003857#msg1003857 bluegeordie, Other than the reference to giving Taylor a long term contract http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=45064.msg1004330#msg1004330
  20. i would rather have Elton fucking John's boyfriend, old man.. debate this I'm the same age as Allardyce, silly boy. And if you prefer Ken Bates to Shepherd, you want your brain testing. You clearly don't know much about Bates, or the mess he left Chelsea in . £80 million in debt and in the Champions League iirc. EDIT - They also won the FA cup twice, League cup, Uefa cup, European Supercup and the Charity shield while he owned the club. Performance in the League over the period of an entire season is the only genuine, true and accurate measure. You can't limit the application of a criteria to selected moments in time just to suit your latest forum point scoring exercise. If you really do insist it's a fair to use these cup competitions as a measure of Ken Bates abilities as a Chairman at Chelsea, then do you agree Ken Bates was a better Chairman at Chelsea than Sir John Hall was at Newcastle?
