Long term medical problems which meant he had deteriorated badly over the last year and wasn't able to fight a recent infection. I'm sure HF will fill in the gaps when he's up to it.

He was an absolute gentleman and one-off. Rest assured that Ben is surrounded by love and support.

Sorry to start such a sad thread but it's just to let you all know of the passing of one of our old friends. Many of you will remember Stu (LBW/Lanky/Lankybellwipe) from days of old when he would regularly brighten our day with his madness and I'm posting with the permission of his brother Chris (Happy Face) the news that he passed away yesterday. I'm sure you'll all join with me in sending our love and condolences to all of the family, especially his son Ben. RIP Lanky
  5. I remember the day the boy came home from school and declared that he liked One Direction. "OH! One Direction! I love them! "no, you don't" "Yes I do!" "No you don't. You like the Stone Roses (midds) and Queen (me) "Well yes I do, but I like One Direction now" "Sing me a One Direction song..." "Erm............. "na na na ... makes you beautiful?" "Have you been listening to the girls at school?" "Hmmm... maybe. Hannah has got a One Direction lunchbox" "Lovely. Let's put some Oasis on....."
  6. Think I may have just found my favourite thread ever I've kept notebooks and journals for years, filled with all kinds of stuff - bits of prose, quotes, poems etc and always keep a journal when I go on any travels. I've got one book that I started writing letters to the bairn, starting before he was born and which is now filled with daft stuff from the last few years - funny words and phrases he used, things he said that made us laugh, his favourite food and films as he grows up etc. Thought it might be nice for him to look back over when he gets older. I like my writing. I do it a lot and it makes me happy. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/catmag/Xmas/D5FA6F3C-17E2-49FE-87A5-C999DA3A6C6C_zpsfnaq4oxf.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/catmag/Xmas/DB498050-BCE3-4C45-AF2C-66DD17754AB5_zpsee5xnrlo.jpg That's just some of them and the brown notebook is probably my favourite. My brother brought it back from India for me. It's all handmade, including the paper inside which is like thick parchment. Haven't started writing in that one yet but though I might use it to keep a journal when I go to Peru next year. Writing in something one one continent that was made on another appeals to me.

This. She's an absolute little shit and if she were my child/pig/whatever-she-is she'd be grounded for life.

1 day late Ours was 9 days late so buckle down for a possible long wait. On day +5 midds decided he'd chance going to see NUFC Vs Man Utd on a Wednesday night. The temptation to ring the ground and get them to page him over the PA system was quite overwhelming

Ahaaaa, that child is wiser than the two of us put together. Sneaky, wise and fucking indescribably awesome

Hope you've both had the most gorgeous day x
  13. It's character building Anyway, the Boston thing is moot - his dad got there before I could. We're all in it together for the Newcastle thing though. Poor bairn has no chance..
