  1. I've just got home. Lovely to see you lads and Jilliano - Jon would've loved today
  2. Just to let you know, Jon's parents and Wendy are heading up north tomorrow and really can't wait to be part of this weekend - it really means a lot to them that everyone is doing this in his name. I won't be able to come to the 5-a-side but hope to catch up later as a few of the TT lot are out around match time too. Jill - have you still got my number?
  3. Newcastle will always get the numbers through the gates based on things like stag do's etc. We're one of those clubs that people generally like so if they're visiting the city for the weekend then it's easy to get tickets for the game.
  4. There's a good programme on R5 Live at the moment about affordable (or not) football in general.
  5. Craig and I had a message from Jon's mam tonight.. " 5 September 20:28 Hi Both can both or one of you let the Forum know we are so proud of all they are doing for my wonderful son, and the Lockwood cup what can I say Wendy myself and Jons Dad will be there couldn't not be... you guys are all amazing and so kind it is like having a whole family we never knew, will be arranging our trip up shortly honestly love all you guys and couldn't be prouder if we tried xx"
  6. Harper's testimonial. As if we'd take our son to any game without at least a dozen legends on display for his first ever game
  7. He's nearly 5 and if we're not actually watching the match he constantly asks me to check my phone for the score. We did good
  8. Your first ever glimpse of your first ever match as you emerge from the concourse.. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/catmag/fragglesjp_zps85d644ea.jpg

  10. Guess what we've watched twice today?
  11. Soemone mentioned he was OK, if you hear anything let us know Pardew said in his post-match interview that he's fine. He's got a cut on his head that needed stitches but sees no reason why he shouldn't play on Sunday, albeit padded up.
  12. Sorry, that's always the problem with starting threads with names in them! Apparently there may be some kind of statement once the surgery is over but for the moment it is ongoing. I've been in liver transplants and they have taken 8hours +.
  13. Just thought I'd mention that Abidal is undergoing a liver transplant as we speak, and has been in surgery for some hours now. I'm sure we all have our fingers crossed for a successful outcome. 32 years old is no bloody age to have to go through this, no matter what you do for a living.
  14. Isn't it April Fish in France? Poisson d'avril? Did I just make that up?
  15. I'm admin on there too so I would have whipped you all into line
  16. Someone could start a thread saying that you've decided to quit? This is how it started
  17. You have no idea how much we had to restrain Dave from just re-opening it first thing. He's been more panicked and bored than any of you without it
  18. It was dead peaceful without you lot here
  19. Absolutely. It happens every day somewhere. I've been involved in 2 resuscitations in the last year of blokes who arrested playing sport. Neither survived. So is it a lot of time a case of just sitting down for a few minutes and that can prevent it from happening? I myself have a heart problem, when I play I get tired more easily and I know when I can't push it and I either walk around the pitch doing noting much or I sit it out for a few minutes. Can doing something similar help prevent it from happening? It seems to be that those it happens to have undiagnosed cardiac problems whereas you already know you have a condition. It's probably just bloody wise to slow down a little bit if you feel like you're overdoing it, but you're doing that with the benefit of knowledge, a diagnosed condition and common sense. Sometimes it really does 'just happen' to people who have no previous problems. It's probably also sensible to state that it happens when people aren't exercising/playing footy too.
  20. Absolutely. It happens every day somewhere. I've been involved in 2 resuscitations in the last year of blokes who arrested playing sport. Neither survived.
  21. His fiance has simply said "All your prayers are working" which tells us all we need to know at this point. It really is miraculous
