I think the main problem for him lies in the way we play, we hardly played a ball through for him to run onto he was never given a 1 on 1 chance with a defender. It was always high long balls on Saturday, Ramage and Bramble do get rid of the ball passes when there is no need and when we need them to get shot they pass it across the back. But a high ball to Emre is a 1 he was never going to win and I feel he is the one player that can find the pass to set Martind away. Its way way way to early to start putting him down for 2 performances, we did see a burst of pace from him on Saturday and he did look lightening fast but he needs to show his pace a whole lot more he is quick so he should be closing down defeneders, I am sure he will come good have more faith in him than I did in Luque after 2 games.

The fact that lamb was 100% adiment that Viduka is not leaving Boro.

Our interest in Bridge is great but the lack of a back up LB target is a let down.

To be fair to Roeder he is still suffering from the Souness times, stuck with Luque and player its obvious Roeder does not want, owen injured. Fred paid out a fortune for Souness and Now Roeder is not going to get the same kind of money, so he is having to make do. Its not going to be a good season, even if we got Huth and Viduka this season is still going to be dam hard.

What are we going to do about Luque then ? He cannot work of a long ball, and if you had been to the training session you would have seen he is shit at getting onto crosses to, out of the all the crosses they fired in from wide left and right he got otno 2 and that was with no defenders just him and Shola running in while Duff, Carr, Milner, Zoggy fired the crosses in. He cannot get the ball to feet everytime on the edge of the box, he is trying much harder now for the team but we are only going to be able to play one way if we want him in the game. Shola dropps deep leaving Luque alone, he needs Shola close to him to set him up, trouble is Shola aint that great in the air and when he does win th ball he wants to dribble past everyone.

We need him to be a star this season mate, but I think a star is a bit off the mark, I will settle for consistent effort.

On his Newcastle World interview he said that Luque pulled out himself saying he had back problems, he seemed to be having a dig at him too when he said just before that other players wouldn't of done what Ameobi did. Yeah I get the impression Roeder is unhappy with Luque again, this is like a never ending circle but why Luque would rule himself out if he was not really injured is beyond me, he did well lastw eek and scored a good goal. I was hoping he would move on from there. God knows we will just ahve to wait and see if anytihing else is said on the matter.

Yeah he did travel so thats good to see, it just seems Roeder has gone out of his way to praise Shola for playing injured, with no mention of why Luque missed out. It was like Roeder was really stressing the point about Shola.

It was said he had a bad back, then the blister story came out, so who knows it may have been both but nothing more has been said about it.
